Dear Celtics Fan,

I'm asking Danny please don't let the big 3 go.

Look I'm not an American but I've been a Celtic for 20 years now and I've spent my life saving last year just to fulfill my dream to see the Celtics at TD Garden.

Look guys this is a transition year. The Bulls went this process(from Jordan days to Rose), the Pacers went this process(from the happy days of Miller till today) and also Phili and Knick. Every Team goes a transition year. I know it is sad to see it but this is natural process.

As a Celtic I know to blow up the big 3 its not Red way, its not the Celtics way. We have to thank PP,RR and KG for their years in Beantown. Me and many people cant stand the thinking that one of the big 3 gonna wear other jersey than green. They gave us number 17 just 4 years ago...they must retire as a Celtic. This is the Celtics way...this is the meaning of being a Celtic.

I fully agree when it comes to Paul and KG but I think Ray would have a lot to offer a championship contender looking for extra scoring. I would be quite happy, however, if none of them are traded.

So whats reds way? losing? 20 years of nothing?

thats what danny thinks and I agree with him. you cant just let an era walk out with nothing in return, itll cripple the teams future and I care most about the team not an individual player(s). the captain is the last guy I wanna trade, but if you can get young talent and picks then you need to trade players like ray and kg to jumpstart the rebuilding process, and possibly pp if you get something amazing(and thats a big if). look the teams not winning a championship this year... you may as well rebuild and danny, the owners, and a lot of the fans seem to be buying into that. thats the job of the GM afterall

To add: I'll always be grateful to these 3 players for bringing Boston back to glory. But if Red had done the right thing and accepted the trades danny talks about, the celtics would have more than 17 titles right now

We are going to blow this team up real nice like for draft picks and cap space ... And in 5 years when we finally become competitive again, you'll thank us.

The Big Three can not be traded, they should retire in Boston.

Kg said Boston was the last train and Ray Allen wants to stay.

If Paul Pierce is traded, this would be a shame for an institution like Boston, he's a Celtics legend, like Duncan, Kobe, Dirk.

I disagree guys

Every team goes through rebuilding process..so do we.
This is gonna be a losing season. It should be to get high picks in the draft..after all we can't compete with the Bulls or Heat even if Danny blow up the Celtics.
So honor the big 3. I just can't stand the thought of PP or any of the big 3 wearing other jersey other than white and green. This is all about being a Celtic!!!
Next year when Green comes back and RR and KG contract are expired and with high draft pick we can still honor the big 3 and  rebuild this team. You just can spit well you drink

Nice thoughts... but do you honestly think you can watch the big three grow older and older,  keep loosing and getting beat up by younger, more athletic teams for the rest of the season?  In my humble opinion, I don't think even they themselves want to witness that.

Well...I don't know.They still have pride...Celtics pride.
Do u think other player (Superman or Josh Smith) will want to play in a ball club that honor his vets and has pride? I guess they do. Playing for a club that honors you and fans that know there is more than a championship makes this club more attractive...

Fans need to realise that most of the "Honor our vets" is pure illusion. Pierce is a Celtics, he should be traded only if he's OK with it. But KG and Ray are just players, even if they contributed a lot since 2007.

Players do not care anymore about franchise history and stuff. They want 1) money and 2) media attention (to make more money) and 3) rings (in that order).

Howard is gonna leave Orlando (if they don't win the Finals 2012), although the Magic fans love him. James left Cleveland, although he had a competitive team and was a homegrown in Ohio.

Wake up ppl! Beoing a contending team sooner rather than later is far more important than being a team that "honors its vets". Players see all this as business, GMs should as well. It's all about winning because winning = merchandising, TV ratings, ticket prices, money, money, money.

It may be sad, but it's the cold reality of today's NBA. Unless you want to go for 15 years of mediocrity again, you should hope that DA is able to find deals for the big 3 bringing back some young players and picks for the rebuilding process to start right now rather than next year (and who wants to watch an old great team behind its prime? I'd rather watch the Wizards, at least they have some hope for the coming years).

We went through this as well with Bird and McHale and we were terrible for years....

Athletes either perform or they don't.  Right now our guys don't perform well and have shown little sign of improving.  Granted that this is a business.

I lived through the 90's rebuild and it cost us nearly two decades of non relevance.  We had our honor but we were terrible.  I am a fan of the name on the front of the jersey not the back, however.

Just curious but how many of you guys still believe in Santa Claus?
