I'll be interested to see if a certain reoccurring joke resurfaces this year. There's a PG in LA whose done a heckuva job as a backup.

You mean Mr. Cancer Herpes Ebola?

Mr. Outbreak himself.

I gotta pat myself on the back here, I've said for a while that  I thought he's perfect for the role he's been given.

Just finished making my rankings for my most desirable teams and the players I'd pick. (yes, my workday has been that slow)

Had a real tough time picking two for the Mavericks, Celtics and Pacers (binky vs. common sense).

Was interested to see that there aren't that many bad teams to start with - outside the Raptors, Bobcats, and maybe Cavaliers (I haven't seen much of Irving so I don't know good he is) and the Sixers - I think I'd be OK with just about any team.

Not a Sixers fan?  I think that Jrue + Iggy or Jrue + Turner are both strong combinations.

I'm a big fan of Iggy myself, and love the Sixers as a team but not wild about them in the pick 2 format. Just don't like the idea of starting a team without a 'must-have' prospect or a big, whereas I think every other team I have above them has that.

Here's what I came up with. Didn't spend all that much time on the rankings.

1.   Miami Heat – Dwyane Wade, Lebron James
2.   Oklahoma City Thunder – Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant
3.   Chicago Bulls – Derek Rose, Joakim Noah
4.   New York Knicks – Amare Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony
5.   Los Angeles Clippers – Blake Griffin, Chis Paul
6.   Orlando Magic – Dwight Howard, Ryan Anderson
7.   Los Angeles Lakers – Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol
8.   Minnesota Timberwolves – Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio
9.   Memphis Grizzlies – Zach Randolph, Marc Gasol
10.   Denver Nuggets – Nene, Ty Lawson
11.   Atlanta Hawks – Al Hoford, Josh Smith
12.   Portland Trail Blazers – Lamarcus Alridge, Gerald Wallace
13.   Dallas Mavericks – Dirk Nowitzki, Lamar Odom
14.   Golden State Warriors – Steph Curry, Monta Ellis
15.   Sacramento Kings – Demarcus Cousins, Tyreke Evans
16.   Indiana Pacers – Roy Hibbert, Danny Granger
17.   Boston Celtics – Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen
18.   Milwaukee Bucks – Brandon Jennings, Andrew Bogut
19.   Utah Jazz – Al Jefferson, Paul Milsap
20.   New Jersey Nets – Deron Williams, Brook Lopez
21.   Houston Rockets – Kyle Lowry, Louis Scola
22.   New Orleans Hornets – Eric Godon, Emeka Okafor
23.   Washington Wizards – John Wall, Javale McGee
24.   Phoenix Suns – Steve Nash, Marcin Gortat
25.   Detroit Pistons – Greg Monroe, Ben Gordon
26.   San Antonio Spurs – Tim Duncan, Tony Parker
27.   Philadelphia 76ers – Andre Iguodala, Jrue Holiday
28.   Cleveland Cavaliers – Kyrie Irving, Anderson Varejao
29.   Toronto Raptors – Andrea Bargnani, Ed Davis
30.   Charlotte Bobcats – Kemba Walker, Bismack Biyombo

I see Jrue Holiday as a "must have" level of player.  He hasn't made "the leap" like I was hoping for, but once AI2 is asked to handle the ball less, I think Jrue will explode.

I think I'd probably draft AI2 ahead of Turner, and would attempt to trade Iggy, who should have some nice value.

You may be right, but I think you're fighting a real up-hill battle with them.

I think even if you do a perfect job you're probably looking at a middle of the pack team both now & future, whereas I think there's a lot more potential for every other team.

Philly's the type of team that's tough because they have a lot of good pieces but no real stars. I could imagine starting with AI, Holiday, Turner, Hawes (at this point), but none of those guys stack up with a top 15 duo. I suppose it depends on who you can get in the draft since we aren't snaking and you'd have a presumably high pick.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe
Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka

I tried saying that in 2009, the year he became Mister Bubons.
