He should be our #1 target this off-season.  He won't committ to Minnesota.  I know other teams will have CAP Space but we are an option for him

He's restricted.

This is the NBA.  Players have the power.  If he tells Minnesota he doesn't want to be there, they won't match the offer or they will work out a sign and trade

They'd match whatever offer he gets and then trade him for more than we have to offer.

I don't see him ever being an MVP during his career, but I definitely think he will win at least one ring before its all said and done.

Just to get out ahead of the curve, you know who else is going to be a S-T-U-D?  Derrick Williams.  A beast inside, with a knock-down 3-point shot.

The T-Wolves' future is very bright.  I just hope Kahn The Magnificent doesn't screw things up.

Same will probably go for Eric Gordon who is on restricted status :(

Well, as much as people have hated on Kahn, his moves have worked out okay so far, culminating in what we're seeing from them this season.  That's not to say he's a great GM or anything (it's hard to mess up continually drafting that high), and acquiring Kevin Love wasn't his doing, but I think it's fair to give Kahn some credit and hold out cautious optimism for what he can do with that roster.

This is absolutely true.  No way Minny doesn't match any offer sheet Love gets.

The only way Love gets out of Minny (and he might not want to, by the way), is if he takes the QO for next year and becomes unrestricted in 2013.

Whether it is on Kahn or owner Glen Taylor, hiring Adelman is probably their biggest coup. I think they would have looked very mediocre playing Rambis' triangle for one more season.

Yeah, Rambis was an awful coach.  He should have done so much more with the roster he had, as bad as it was.

Does Love remind anyone a little (just a little) of 33? But of course Larry did everything well.

Would be nice to have another player with skill over athleticism in green...Its just so right...Could be our sales pitch.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
Dirk's stats from his MVP year : 24.2 PPG, 9.1 RPG, 3.3 APG, 0.8 SPG, 0.8 BPG.

Love's stats right now : 25.6 PPG, 14.3 RPG, 1.9 APG, 1.1 SPG, 0.7 BPG.

Not saying the MVP is all about stats (leadership, blah blah, etc), but Love's stats right now are very good - and he's not in his prime yet.

I guess they are both white, but in no way am I ever going to compare him to Larry Bird. Man, Larry could play any position on the court and be the best at it. Love is solid, but so was Big Al when he was on a crappy team. When he is this good on winning team, call me.

That being said, I would be more than happy to take on Love, as he should have a very promising future.

Look for the Minnesota Timberwolves to offer Kevin Love a $60 million, four-year contract extension within the next eight days.

Love, 23, who is playing for $4.6 million this season, can become a restricted free agent after the season unless he signs an extension before Jan. 25. If Love opts for free agency, the Wolves would have the right to match any outside offer. Love also can return to Minnesota in 2012-13 for $6.1 million and become an unrestricted free agent after the season.

Hopefully he declines that offer, and opts to sign a 6 yr 102 mill deal with us in the off-season.  :)

He can do everything on court as well as anybody in the history of basketball can except dunk.

Also true. Nobody competes like him. That was real basketball, not whining to get a trade, none of the on screen fake glory, none of that.

Too bad I was too young to appreciate it all...
