Al Horford is out for 3-4 months with a torn pectoral ... anybody down with KG for Pachulia, or KG for Smith? In the former scenario, Pachulia becomes our starting center, with Bass moving to starting PF and Wilcox becoming his main backup. In the latter scenario, we at least get younger and more athletic with Smith as the starting PF.

P.S.: ESPN's trade checker is down, so I couldn't check this.

KG is a much higher class of player, even at this stage of his career.

I realize that stats don't tell the whole story, but here are the numbers so far this season (PPG, RPG, BPG, PER):

Smith: 15.6, 8.5, 1.7, 20.85
KG: 13.2, 7.3, 1.0, 18.45

Not to mention that Smith is considerably younger, faster and more athletic. I like KG, but his lateral quickness on defense isn't so quick anymore, as evidenced by that late play involving Nowitzki last night, and I can't imagine KG's legs/lift/quickness getting better as this season goes along. I don't want to see KG go, I'm just trying to creatively problem-solve.

Well, I'm talking about the trade proposed in the title:  KG for Pachulia.  KG is simply better than Pachulia is.

Yeah, I agree. On that one, I guess I was just thinking of how we could get a decent center. Brain fart on my part.  :-\

Thank you.  I was about to lose it.

I know this has been discussed, but doesn't a trade with Atlanta seem to make perfect sense? It doesn't seem like nabbing away Josh Smith would be very difficult with their current state. He would be a nice building block for the future and Atlana probably wouldn't mind starting over this offseason.

Pachulia is okay, but I would feel pretty crappy if we traded KG for him.

KG for smith is something to ponder, if it were on the table, although I wouldn't personally be for it.

There was talk last summer about Smith looking at Boston. If I remember correctly, they wouldn't take fillers, only wanted either KG or Ray. Don't know if it's more realistic doing that now, but I would love to see Smith come to Boston. He's younger, more athletic, and complements Rondo on the fastbreak. Trading KG for him? I'd have to think about that one. Also bringing him in would only help us in getting D12, which I still think we can still have a chance at.

Pachulia on the other hand, no thanks.

KG for Smith and Hinrich works I believe. But if I were Danny, I'd gauge their interest in Jermaine.

Garnett, Dooling

for

Williams, Hinrich, Pachulia, 1st

Seemingly makes sense for both teams, but I'm not sure I'd want to use the cap space next year on Marvin and Zaza
