We had a rested team with four days to practice and develop chemistry.

We were playing a team also considered old on the second day of a back to back

We lost. At home. Most of our top players did not show up.

The rested team looked old, tired and slow.

I am really looking forward to the seventh seed, aren't you?

If the seventh seed is the best we can do, then, yes, absolutely.  Hopefully, if that's the case, the Heat will be the two seed.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas

C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Yeah, we're a definite 5-8 seed.  I dont know why anyone would have expected anything more or anything less with the lack of talent and depth on this roster

So, you're going to be supporting whichever team ends up in the 7th seed?

Seriously, I think we generally do poorly in games following a long(ish) break.

We are currently in the eighth seed. We are a game and half out of the seventh seed. We have no wins against teams that have better than a .500 record.

This team is old, has a horrible bench because we were capped out and is not winning anything this year.

Time to sell off parts and rebuild.

Seriously, does anyone really think we are winning a title this year?

At times we looked average in 09-10.

Then the playoffs happened, and Rondo went from David Banner to his alter ego.

We look sluggish right now, and Paul looks disappointing - right now.

But I still have hope. The window is certainly closing - but it's not closed.

Look at the bright spots here:

Bass got TWO assists last night - weren't those his first this season?

Avery Bradley continues to play better and is improving offensively.

We finally got Pietrus back. He will be huge for us down the stretch.

Remind me, did we win the title in 09'-10'?

I know, I know, lots of excuses why that were so unfair but no, we did not.

  • Rondo = Good

Looking at the names on the roster and what theyve done in the past instead of objectively considering the level of current talent relative to other teams in the league.

What proof do you have in the contrary? Even the team has admitted the bench (Other than Brandon Bass) has been a disappointment.

Oh, and gosh, I am so glad we picked Johnson over Brooks. So glad we dodged that bullet.....Cause we certainly did not need a shooting guard who is averaging 14ppg off the bench.

No, we didn't win the title. But I certainly enjoyed seeing us upset CLE and ORL - as a lower seed - all on the road.

To me, I don't look back on 09-10 as a total failure. This team shocked the NBA during the playoffs, after getting dominated by CLE (and ORL, I believe) during the regular season.

The vast majority of ESPN experts were picking CLE to come out the East that year, and if not them ORL.

They based those predictions off of how Boston played that season. If my memory serves me, we didn't play well vs ORL or CLE.

For me, I was very happy with what happened that season even after the way it ended.

We are clearly not a great team right now.  We may never reach that point this season, but I think it's just too early to tell.
