It seems a bit ridiculous. I understand that Westphal wasn't a great fit there, but this is honestly the last thing a player like Cousins needs to advance in his career. If he's not careful, he's going to be just another big-headed player who thought he was special, but then was suddenly not. They could have waited a couple of weeks...
I agreed at first, but honestly, after what Westphal did, they had no choice.
The two are not going to work out, so if Sac wanted to move Cousins, Westphal blew that by obliterating his trade value.
So naturally, the other shoe had to drop.
Also, if you are SacTown, you are still looking at a young guy who can still be reached. I wouldnt give up on him now either...they are young enough to wait on him.
All it takes is one coach to reach him and boom...franchise cornerstone... Westphal obviously wasnt the guy for the job.
