Before this weekend there were three teams with prolific offenses and bad defenses, four teams with good defenses and good offenses and one bad team.

Now there's only one team left with a prolific offense and three teams left with good defenses and good offenses.

Pundits were talking how you might not need a good defense anymore to win it all. Well, unless the Pats win it all, and they easily could, that theory might be down the drain. Green Bay and New Orleans go down to good defenses and the last time the Pats played a good defense, they lost.

Green Bay offensive line being beat up killed them and they played horribly sloppy ball.

I agree with your line of thinking, bc I think the pundits are full of it most of the time and bc I still think that defense wins, most of the time.

But, I don't think you can entirely look at the results of this weekend and say "case closed". NO was close to winning, and Green Bay had a pretty intense week from a personnel perspective. In other words, I think you could say that there were extenuating circumstances. I'd want a larger sample size.
All absolutely true. Not going to dispute any of that.

Just saying, Ravens vs. 49ers would be the worst superbowl of all time.

We get to see...erm...Alex Smith lead the 49ers against Joe Flacco and his Fu Manchu mustache. Both the Ravens and 49ers have great defenses and mediocre offenses. Has all the makings of a 10-7 game. Has the potential to be as boring as the BSC National Championship game was.

Getting ugly in GB.  Giants-49ers will be a heck of a game.  Not sure which of those teams I'd want the Pats to play if the Pats get there.    Both have more balance than the Pats, and it looks like the Giants have again caught fire at the right time.

I WANT the Giants, BIG TIME. EMBARRASING the Giants is a Super Bowl might help the healing process I'm still going through. That we're still going through.

If the Giants beat them again, does that make it even worse?

At that point I would tip my hat and call the Giants my daddy.

Interesting...SF favored by 2 1/2 pts.  Good, keep the G-men motivated.

I'd be happy with a Giants/Pats rematch, makes for an interesting back and forth of trash talking amongst my buddies and myself.

Yeah, 49ers Vs. Ravens would be a terrible Bowl...

Sadly Pats fans, you will not have your revenge match because my 49ers will beat the Giants. As to the result of the SuperBowl though, i still don't know.

Pretty cool article here on the Pats and specifically on the two tightends.  Calling them, "queens on a chessboard"

4 honorary captains for the Pats this Sunday are Troy Brown, Ty Law, Tedy Bruschi, and Drew Bledsoe.

Was kinda hoping they'd bring back Lawyer Milloy. Oh well....

Methinks you're the one mistaken.   ;D

My Giants will be taking down your 49ers today without a doubt.  :P

This NFC title game is turning into a real slugfest. Much like the AFC game.

If you like defense, this is a great game to watch.
