Pundits were talking how you might not need a good defense anymore to win it all. Well, unless the Pats win it all, and they easily could, that theory might be down the drain. Green Bay and New Orleans go down to good defenses and the last time the Pats played a good defense, they lost.Green Bay offensive line being beat up killed them and they played horribly sloppy ball.I agree with your line of thinking, bc I think the pundits are full of it most of the time and bc I still think that defense wins, most of the time. But, I don't think you can entirely look at the results of this weekend and say "case closed". NO was close to winning, and Green Bay had a pretty intense week from a personnel perspective. In other words, I think you could say that there were extenuating circumstances. I'd want a larger sample size.

Not sure which of those teams I'd want the Pats to play if the Pats get there. Both have more balance than the Pats, and it looks like the Giants have again caught fire at the right time. I WANT the Giants, BIG TIME. EMBARRASING the Giants is a Super Bowl might help the healing process I'm still going through. That we're still going through. If the Giants beat them again, does that make it even worse?

Early lines for the conference championship games (for purely entertainment purposes):Ravens v. Patriots (-7.5)Giants v. 49ers (-2.5)

Just saying, Ravens vs. 49ers would be the worst superbowl of all time. We get to see...erm...Alex Smith lead the 49ers against Joe Flacco and his Fu Manchu mustache. Both the Ravens and 49ers have great defenses and mediocre offenses. Has all the makings of a 10-7 game. Has the potential to be as boring as the BSC National Championship game was.
Sadly Pats fans, you will not have your revenge match because my 49ers will beat the Giants. As to the result of the SuperBowl though, i still don't know.
