Deron is listed as OUT.  Sadly, I'd say we caught a break.  But considering how brutal we've been in games the last 2 years of lesser teams missing their best player - I can't say I'm please.  Plus, Deron has been horrible this year too.

Expect a big game from Brooks.

Wow that's going to be a sad NJ squad that starts opposite the C's. They dreamed of Deron and Dwight and now they're playing Sundiata Gaines, Marshon Brooks, Damion James, Shelden Williams, and Mehmet Okur.

Yikes!

Yes. I am predicting a blowout, let's say +13 in a game that isn't nearly as close as the score looks.

Maybe the guard newbees can rest Rondo some extra. Use it as 40 minute practice, to run the drills and sets , coach the second unit into shape .  Leave JO on the bench to mend , and play the heck out of Bass, Wilcox and Juan Juan and Stiems.

I said before I think D'Will is sulking again ( his output and frame of mind are of one) and ready to jump ship , now that it appears DH is gonna ride out season in Orlando. I think he has a short contract, as in , if you don' thave anybody here to help me in a year ...I'm gone.  So ...maybe he goes to Orlando ?

This is quite sad. I hope we can muster the strength to defeat the Nets.

Yup exactly what I predict, the lead will dip because we will be playing the bench at the end... but even our bench is so much better than some of their starters that I wouldn't be surprised if it's more than around there.

What a sad NJ team to take the floor tonight.  KG vs Sheldon Williams: Who will come out on top?!?  LOL

EDIT:  Just saw this on twitter:

"combined career PPG of nets projected starting 5: 31.9. without marshon brooks, 18.2."

haha

I was going to predict in the game thread that Deron would be traded before Dwight this year.

That trade is not working out for them. At all.

I kind of feel bad too. I wouldnt mind reigniting the short lived rivalry we had.

Yikes is right. But with no Eric Gordon, I once felt bad for the hornets (tbf it was a 2nd night of a back to back). Like most times, im sure this game will be closer then it should be until the latter part of the fourth.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Hey despite our issues, we lead our division.

There was an interesting article on Barrea leaving Dallas in the Star Tribune. Apparently Dallas is trying to get cap space for Dallas native Deron Williams and Dwight Howard. Now that would be interesting. Howard, Dirk and Williams would be sick and at least it would be a super team in the West.

Sundiata Gaines is finally getting minutes?!  I think he's gonna be good.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I'm expecting a close game too, but for the reason that the Cs sometimes play at the level of their opponents.

Deron Williams: 37% from the field, 28% from three, 6 assists, 4.3 turnovers per game for the worst team in the league.

Even without Gordon, you're cutting New Orleans short on that comparison.  Take away Deron from NJ and Gordon on NO, NO still has a lot of good talent and depth.  Okafor and Kaman at C is great when many teams don't have one capable C, plus Landry, Ariza, Jack (who has been surprisingly strong so far), Belleneli, Aminu, Vazquez.  If they pull of this expected trade with Memphis they will also add Henry to that lineup.

They are reminding me of the Nuggets after the Melo trade, who were surpringly good because they were so deep.  If you can hang with better first units with your starters and then put out a second unit with players that could be starting a lot of places (and therefore will probably have an advantage over other better teams second units) you can win a good amount of games, especially in this condensed season.

To be fair to Deron, I'm sure it's hard as a PG when you have no scorers to pass to (Lopez has been out, Brooks is seemingly their only other scorer) and the whole defense focuses on you as you're trying to score.  He has also dealt with injury issues.
