  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Hopefully Ray Allen continues to play at this level.

If we're winning, he's a great asset. If we take a swan dive, or suffer major injury, or whatever, Ray Allen's contract and talent level make him the second most trade-able asset on the team behind Rondo. This kind of performance just fuels that.

It's true.  But even on a losing team, you'd love to have Ray here mentoring the younger guys rather than let him walk for nothing even at his age

Yeah, he's an asset on any team, but if you're a losing squad (and without any marquee pieces at the 2 or 3) then he is likely an asset you can't maximize.

The Clippers would be the #1 spot I'd think.

I was going to make a Ray Allen appreciation thread beat me to it, kinna.   8)

How amazing has he been this year so glad to have him. I wish Doc would somewhat try and cut down his minutes though.

He would kill it on Miami imagine all the open looks he'd get or vice versa James and Wade to the basket if they stay home on him.

Also San Antonio. With Manu hurt, if they wanna send Tim Duncan out right they're gonna need a valid stop-gap.

TP he's been a machine.

Regarding his minutes, he's currently playing the least amount since his rookie year. I wouldnt mind him maintaining the current 34 minute pace.

He is conditioned like an endurance runner and I think his body can take it.

All basketball players should be trained like Ray is. I suspect that the Suns have similar regimens for their players so they can maintain their uptempo throwback style of play.

Somewhere along the line, basketball turned into a walk the ball up league where players could get away with "short burst" conditioning similar to football. I'm glad we have a throwback like Ray.

Yep you're right.  You're seeing less of the Ray type SG too where they are constantly moving off ball and coming off screens, instead it's so iso focused.

The Suns also have the best conditioning program in the league.  That's why Nash and Hill have been so willing to stick around and continue to play well into their later years.  I know Hill has said as much and knows other systems well since he's been around the league.

If things go drastically wrong this year and the C's decided to blow it up at the deadline, Chicago might part some talent like Omer Asik/Taj Gibson and 1st rounder for Ray given that he would be the perfect clutch, three point shooting, SG to pair with Rose in the starting lineup.

Rose/Ray/Deng/Boozer/Noah is a helluva starting lineup to enter the playoffs with.

That said, I really hope Ray is here until he retires.

Ray absolutely amazes me.

On the other hand, if DA begins to think that we do not have it this year....  Sell high!(as in while the guy is shooting over 60% from 3)

In the fat off chance that Ray doesn't retire a Celtic and we end up trading him, PLEASE don't let it be to anyone within the conference. I'd be sick to my stomach watching him shoot daggers against us and sending us to an early playoff exit.

Yeah we should get rid of him while he's still worth some thing.
I mean he missed a 3 point shot last night!!!

Hurry DA, trade him before he misses 2!!!

Seriously though, this guy is all pro! Most jump shooters would have lost it 2 years ago, and he seems to get better. Its uncanny!

I thought the same thing, but someone told me they would reject Ray for Asik, Korver and a 1st.
