The only way I can see us getting him would be for KG. Which might not be a terrible move except it would kill our cap space for next year and we'd probably have to include a pick.

That would be ironic..

I am hoping somehow Millsap ends up the odd man out.  He would be a much better fit for the C's IMO, and he fits in better in a trade scenario based around JO, picks, and young guys.  It's a longshot, but it would be the ideal addition.

How about something like this

Utah - Monta Ellis
Golden State - Ray Allen, Brandon Bass
Boston - Al Jefferson, Raja Bell

draft picks can be included as necessary.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

This works as well

Utah - OJ Mayo, Brandon Bass
Boston - Al Jefferson, Raja Bell (or no bell, works both ways)
Memphis - Ray Allen

again draft picks as necessary
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Al would answer our problem with an inside presence. Utah has Milsap. Favors, and Kanter and Al Jefferson seems expendable to me from their side. We could offer Bradley, a 1st round pick, and maybe someone else (though I really dont wanna give up etwaun and they already have all those 4's and 5's so Jajuan seems a litle unecessary for them).
We really need to get production out of the center position and Al would solve that.

E'Twaun Moore would hold up this deal?  REALLY?  I'm willing to bet the GM of Utah doesn't even know who E'Twaun Moore is.  And he's definitely never heard of Avery Bradley.  So why is it that that he would want to trade his best player for this turd buffet again??

Agreed.  A better fit than Al.  Equivalent to David West, IMHO.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

thats really funny ;D tp for the reference

but i disagree. Al has a beautiful low post game. i haven't seen him play since his sota days but, by the numbers he has improved as a shot blocker and passer, though i suspect he still has a one track mind in the post.

in the mind of al while working the post for 12 seconds...
"double team, what double team?
find the open man? break the double and launch an improbable finger role with english?
pass? shoot?
paper? plastic?
aw hell there's 3 seconds left on the shot clock!
What am i going to eat for dinner tonight?"
finger role... it good!  ;D
shot clock violation::)

Not a bad idea. Althought I've got to wonder why on earth Utah would trade Al Jefferson. You can never have enough bigs. That said, I wouldn't mind having Al back.

I was all for trading Al for KG back in 2007. But, the times have changed and we could really use someone with Jefferson's production in the paint.

I would think trading Ray, Bradley and maybe the Clippers pick would get it done.

Yup because Bradley a first round pick and oh...just someone else would really be enticing to the Jazz... I mean really? Come on.

Not only is that a worthless pile of junk for a player who could return much more value, but frankly I don't want Jefferson back. He hasn't proven anything except he can put up semi decent numbers on terrible terrible teams. With the Celtics he could score but we were terrible. Traded to the Wolves, he could score and they were terrible. Finally gets traded to a good Jazz team and what happens? Their best player is traded and their legend coach steps down and they become terrible.

I loved Jefferson while he was here, but he doesnt have the winning mentality or worth ethic I want to see on the Celtics. His defense is pathetic and on a team with good players were he would be the third or even fourth option, I wouldnt expect to see his numbers translate very well. I hate to say it but even though I liked the guy, he doesnt seem to have what it takes to play basketball on a winning championship caliber team. Until he proves that otherwise, I say no thanks.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
I know that the term blow it up has made some people sensitive lately, but I don't think trading for 1 good player is the answer to anything. We need a few good players, and there is only so many roster spots and we have only a few assets to deal with which essentially means breaking up what has been the core group since the summer of '07. The time has come to get younger, longer, more athletic. If you don't like the term blow it up, we can call it something else...

The only way you get Jefferson is to include Rondo and two first rounds and take back Devin Harris.

Jefferson, Harris

for

Rondo, O'Neal, Bradley and 2 first rounders.

The Celtics end up losing Rondo but could possibly clear every major bit of salary off their books for 2013-14 if they wanted as both Jefferson and Harris end after 2012-13 and Pierce could be amnestied.

Of course I don't think this trade makes us a better team. As bad as JO is, if he stays healthy he should be a better defensive player than Jefferson and Rondo is miles ahead of Harris in a bunch of ways.

I say stick with the current roster and if we suck come the trade deadline, start making blow it up trades.

So in that deal, the Celtics would give up the best player (Rondo), take back long-term salary (Big Al & Harris - arguably both overpaid), get no young prospects, and give up Bradley and two first rounders?

What???? Rondo, Jermaine and a couple of meaningless draft picks for Devin Harris and Al Jefferson would be a steal for the Celtics!
