if you think Baby was scared when Doc yelled at him for a 3, think about what SVG will do to Baby when he takes a 3

BBD gets stuffed and leads to a hoop

follows it up with a charge

9 mins 2-7 and 3 fouls on BBD , wow .....

so thankful Danny is our GM

So thankful Otis Smith isn't our GM

Watch, once Dewey moves on (and I think he will), Baby will be crying for a trade. Or SVG will pidgeonhole BBD to the end of the bench where the Janitor will have to mop up Baby's puddle of tears for not getting to play.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Glen is.. Glen.. i hope he does well against anyone else but the Celtics and i feel saddend that he is viewed the way he is by most celtics fans today.

He came into the celtics with such an enthusiasm around him, another feel good story. Didnt quite turn out the same way Leon Powe did. I guess someone has to be the badguy.

This thread frustrates me immensely because Danny could've/should've sold high on that slob after the 09 playoffs.

I've been screaming on this forum for the last 3 years about how bad Davis is, and it seems like it's only now that he's no longer a Celtic that people have removed their green goggles and finally admitted that he's awful.

I'm still convinced that if we had traded him for a real center when we should have, we wouldn't have lost game 7 in the 2010 playoffs after Perk went down.

So no, I can't give Ainge any credit for trading him about 2-3 years after he should have. If anything, the way this scenario is playing out is just validating how wrong Danny was all along.

Why would Danny have thought to sell high on BBD after the '09 playoffs?  It was his first year of getting real minutes off of the bench and he did relatively well......especially in the playoffs that year.  Why wouldn't Danny have thought that with a couple of more years under Doc, KG and the others that his game wouldn't have continued to climb?  He is a very productive NBA player.  He was even in the running for the 6th man award until his injury last year cut his production (as well as his weight gain).

As it turns out, he was, and is a lot more of a selfish player than I imagined.  Oh well, what can  you do now?  He's gone and I'm thankful for some of his more memorable moments.
We all think we know more than we really do....

gotta say doc is pretty smooth about player relationships, van grundy will be in the press and on tv calling davis out, he doesn't mince words for good or bad

ahahah  I'm sorry but this is too funny to me.

Would have loved to see his face when he didn't get the start.  Must have been a blow to his fat head.

Why would he? He'll gave the chance to be the franchise centerpiece.  ;D

A trade 2-3 yers ago would not have yielded anyone better than Bass.  What we should maybe be upset about is drafting Baby over DeAndre Jordan; that was a head scratcher to me.
that must be a real head scratcher because Davis was drafted in 2007 and Jordan was drafted in 2008.  Both were selected 35.

if howard gets traded for bynum and gasol, then bbd will find a nice cozy chair on the bench cause his minutes will be completely gone.

i actually thought the bbd for bass trade helped both teams. we needed somebody aggressive on the boards and that wasnt afraid to bang down low with anyone. they needed another perimeter playing pf who could also help at guarding centers (rmr they lost gortat so they had no true center to back up howard). but they def overpaid for him (4 yrs, 26 mil). thats pretty ridiculous considering we got bass for 4 mil.

the trade made sense, but if both lakers go to the magic, hes gonna demand a trade and i doubt any contender will want to pay him that kinda money.

I wouldn't go too overboard after one game.  The reality is that Baby and Bass are much better fits on their new teams.  Boston needed more of a physical presence and someone who could finish around the rim.  Orlando needed a more versitile player and somebody to guard centers.

Absolutely true.  Great post, Mike.  It's like people are  following River's lead in trashing our ex players.

Davis was simply overplayed because Shaq was a gazillion pounds overweight and broke down and the other O'Neal tanked the season.  Had Davis been playing his role instead of instead of O'Neal/O'Neal's roles, we wouldn't be having this discussion.  Davis was a vital part of our championship team and a lot better than most in this blog give him credit for.

Baby was hardly a vital part of our championship squad.  He was the 5th big after Pollard/Brown and Powe.

And people have been frustrated with Baby since he first started seeing major minutes in 2008-2009.  Frustratingly poor rebounder, inaccurate jump shooter, and unathletic interior finisher.

To be sure Davis played a big role in our 2009 and 2010 playoff runs, but that was a big reason why those runs ended in disappointment.

No he wasn't.

Yeah, I find it strange how many people claim he was important in the championship run in 08...
This blog was discussing wether or not he was nba talent early in 09... he answered that question during that same season, but it's not like he lost all his critics since then
