I do agree with Coach Bo on one point in particular, that you should not build a team around Rondo.  I don't think you can build a team around a point guard...or any one player.  Any good (or even great) player needs talent around him to thrive at the highest level.

I love Rajon Rondo.  On this team  his pass first mentality is a positive trait. In the future, IMO, Rondo is smart enough and talented enough and still young enough to adapt and add to his game according to that future team's needs.

I do not believe that Rondo is one dimentional point guard who has reached his peak and is now on the downside of his career.  Every year he has improved at least one facet of his game, and there is no reason to think that will not continue.

TP to OP

Wonderfully said.  Rondo is also way more athletic than Paul and Williams, thus has a higher ceiling than both.  If Rondo has a jump shot he's probably within the top 1 pg in the league. And acutally I think he has a jump shot but he is pass first so he's cold, mentally and physically, every time he pulls up to shoot. When the big 3 leave his shooting will be there. Rondo = Stud and I'm glad we didn't trade him.

It's gonna be fun to watch the clipper this year btw.

Derek Fisher has been to the Finals more times than Rondo, and has a few more rings than Rondo does.  Does that mean he's better?  Would you prefer to have Derek Fisher (even in his prime) over Rondo now?

I wish people would stock making this "starting pg on a championship team" argument.

I don't know.

Obviously noones gonna take Fisher over Rondo.  But if you don't think the fact that Fisher has been a "starting pg on a championship team" makes him better than if he had never played in a playoff game you're crazy.

Meh. Derek Fisher is still Derek Fisher, regardless. There might be a very marginal difference due to experience, but he doesn't just magically become better because his team was successful.

Well, I feel like everyones opinion of Rondo is gonna be kinda different after todays game, especially concerning his shooting.

No, not really. I've seen Rondo hit jumpers before in his career. If he does that all season, I'll reconsider, but 3 made jump shots is not likely to sway my opinion.
