Rondo for a 37 year old Steve Nash? LOL, NO WAY. As great of an offensive player Nash is , He is just as terrible on the defensive end. Rondo's only flaw is His shooting (fg and ft), but He does everything else very well. Rondo is also arguably the best defensive pg in the league. If we trade Him, we need to get young talent for the future.

Ainge is all talk.  He talked for years about his conversation with Red where he suggested breaking up the previous big 3. Well look at the C's now ... we have Pierce, KG and Allen, all too old to trade for any significant value.  He totally missed the boat and followed Red's footsteps exactly.  Now he wants to trade his only asset worth rebuilding around? Are you crazy?  If Ainge does that, he'll set this franchise back another 20 years ... I think the Green heart problems is just an omen.  Do the right thing and take care of your hall-of-fame PG, will ya Ainge?

I can't figure out a trade between PHX-BOS and HOU,what would Houston need to do in this trade ? They get Rondo and Phoenix get Lowry, Boston get's Nash ?

Why would PHX want Lowry ? Didn't they trade Dragic to Houston this year already ?

Have Houston signed their draft picks yet ? If not maybe they would trade their big man they drafted to us ? Plus Patterson ?

Then this probably means Danny is aqcuiring assets to go after Howard at the deadline.

Rockets go for it all this year at the cost of rebuilding.

Phoenix get a future 1st from us (protected)and adequate value for Nash who goes to a contender.

Boston get's nothing out of it but possible trade chips for Howard. Martin almost got the Lakers CP3 so he must have value around the league, Patterson,draft pick from Houston our firsts this year for DH would be able to beat Lopez + 2 1sts.


Which makes the Rockets a serious contender to trade for DH,but maybe they feel like he wouldn't sign LT with them so they go all in this year instead.

And Boston need to get a 1st or two since we would trade 3 of our starters.

The quote about it being a team out west that we don't expect makes me think it could be the thunder trading us westbrook for rondo.

Think about this Westbrook becomes and RFA and is gonna need a max contract, but do the thunder really want him at max money with a potential alpha dog issue in okc. Durant is one of the best players in the nba and they okc dont want russ taking his shots

i think they may wait for a bit to see if james harden can replace the scoring that westbrook gives them before trading him, but lets be honest rondo would be perfect on that team

my gut feeling is that this trade would be centered around..

  for
Nash + Gortat + 1st rd pick

maybe pull the clippers in the trade by taking the pick from phoenix and avery and sending them to clip for bledsoe?

Cs do this because with nash they are not really stepping it down for this season nash is the better offencive player rondo is better defensive. With Gortat they get a 27 yr old starting caliber big who is getting reletivly cheap $ for 2 yrs. I would expect a 1st thrown in (possibly where a 3rd team comes into play) do to the fact that the Cs give up more long term talent in rondo.

Phoenix will drop rondo right into nashes role and continue to play there fast pasted style for years to come and still have frye and lopez at C.

Another possibility would but GS breaking up the ellis curry back court. However i cant see Rondo playing well with either of them.

I cant see how we could end up with Evans do to Sacs unique perimeter lineup, Jimmer,Thorton and Evans. Out of that 3 i would think they would want to move jimmer or thorton for a SF. Not Evans for a PG

I actually thought Rajon's shot looked a little better last night granted it was Toronto though.

Nash being too old is the reason phoenix does the trade they are not a championship team this year so its time to get younger. Danny does it because nash can still lead this group of old stars through a playoff run. Gortat would be a big up grade at C and a future 1st is a trading piece for the rebuild.

I think the Rondo + JO for Nash and Gortat trade makes all the sense in the world. 

Number one it opens our window significantly this year.  I think right now we have a 5-10 percent chance of winning  it.  After this deal I think we have a 25% chance of winning it all.


Number 2 it adds another pick to our team for next year and a good defensive/rebounding center for the future and an expiring contract in Nash.

  I agree.  For everything Nash gives you on offense he takes away from you two fold on defense because he is an absolutely horrible defender.  He wasn't a good defender in his prime and that passed 5 years ago.  

  Bringing in Steve Nash assures you that your front court will be in constant foul trouble because he cant stay in front of anyone, his man will be in the paint without even trying.

   I'm not against dealing Rondo but dealing him for an ancient Nash who will cripple our defense and put our bigs in constant foul trouble is a terrible idea unless the goal for this season is the lottery.

They might be listening to Kobe's frustration about not landing the coveted point guard that they hoped for...

We'll probably get Bynum and / or Paul Gasol and a 1st round draft pick to cover our needs no and in the future.

To have people pay attention to Rondo's temperment, to see how he goes and plays, to see if he leaves it all out there....

They're still talking about this, about maybe moving Rondo somewhere out west... in a warm spot.
