I see what Ray is saying, and I would have liked to see David West in green, but the big three are pulling in over $46 million this year. It’s not like they’re taking the minimum to win a championship.

This had me all riled up too, but to be fair:

* Indiana may be a playoff team, not so far behind the Cs this year. They could be ahead of them next year. I personally don't think so, but you gotta believe Indiana was pitching that Boston isn't really that far ahead of them. It's not like he went to the TWolves.

* If he wants one more big contract, it may be important to him that he's a starter.

Really frustrating though. Bass, Garnett and West would have been a really compelling trio.

Indiana might make the playoffs but they aren't even close to the level this Celtics team this year. I don't care how much people on here want to sell this team short.

You get like +100 Tommy points for that statement. Indian maybe improving on the stat sheet, but they are no where near the Celtics level. People on this blog for some reason are suddenly selling this team short.

The Big 3 are obviously past their prime, but they're still in great shape for their age and can still play at a high level.

Ray Allen isnt the only person that is shocked to see that D-West signed with the Pacers...
I mean Pacers is a really good team, but West coulda been one of the last pieces in the search for number 18.. Disappointed..

I highly doubt West just "chose" the pacers with the salaries being almost equal.  Everything I read said otherwise (that the main issue was finding a suitor for JO).

I am extremely surprised to hear Ray such strong things though.  He's usually a low key guy.

David took the money most of us would took gaurenteed income over  what could be in a sign and trade.   I know I would jump on ten million a year.

That team isn't winning anything more then a playoff series with West on that team. West is 31 and that team's future isn't that bright. They still lack a franchise player. Granger, Hibbert, West are all at best the third guy on a title team. Granger might be a #2 if he played on a team like Dallas but that team isn't doing anything unless they acquire a top 7 talent.

West would have a legit shot at a title this year and maybe next. It's about money and nothing else for why he went to Indiana. Don't blame him for that, but it had nothing to do with money for him choosing Indy.
