Ray Allen was a guest on local Boston radio station WEEI today. The following exchange occured at 7:50 in the audio link. Allen discusses his thoughts on possible retirement and a contract extension with the Celtics.According to WEEI.com:Question: How much longer are you going to do this?Ray Allen: That's one thought that I haven't really put out there. .... When I decide to stop playing, it won't be because of me. I think it will be more because of my circumstances.... Obviously, for one if I'm not here anymore. That's a huge deterrent. You end up having to player somewhere that is not to the standards where I've been in the last 3 or 4 years. Physically, I'm in a a great place. So I don't worry about that all. Again, there are so many unforeseen circumstances that can take place that can cause me to hang it up.Question: This is your last year. Are you thinking now about staying, playing here longer? Extending? New deal?Ray Allen: Yeah, of-course I'm thinking about it. I don't need or want to go anywhere. We got to get the rally hats going, so we can sign that new deal. That's a Danny Ainge question. Of-course I'd love to continue to be here.
Don't you just hate it when players try to influence where they end up while they are under contract?
