So, now Lakers can dedicate their efforts to landing Dwight Howard.  >:( :-\

Otis Smith hates the Lakers. And from my understanding he doesn't want any of their players. Bynum Lakers only chip is overpaid, and has a history list of injuries.

I'm fairly certain, Magic plan is to handle Dwight Howard ala Kobe Byrant 2007 when wanted out. Hope you win games early, and make a blockerbuster trade to get him help.

So, Clippers will have Paul, Mo Williams, an injured Bledsoe, and Chauncey all at PG this season?

Something's gotta give. Amnesty Mo Williams?

Clips also have no backup C to Jordan.

Say what you want about Stern and his poor decision in vetoing the last trade but the Hornets did way better in this trade as a whole. Less long term money. A much better SG with actual All-Star potential. A very promising SF who's rights are held for three more years. And a pick that I think would be at the worst a top 4 pick next year(yes, Minnesota is that bad).

I understand Bledsoe is hurt but come playoff time the Clippers are going to be stacked with PGs. Be interesting to see if they play Chauncey at the 2 since he is definitely big and strong enough though is lacking in the speed and quickness department.

I agree about Gordon. Makings of a good young SG there.

I don't see the fuss about Aminu, though. I honestly don't expect much from him going forward.

CP3 - The Clippers?  LOL Really?  The Effing Clippers?

have fun being a joke in LA and playing for an owner who will never spend the $$$ to keep you, but at least you are in Los Angeles.   Really, this is the only positive part of Paul going to the Clippers.

Order of importance in Los Angeles sports:
1) Lakers
2) USC Football
3) UCLA BBall
4) Dodgers
5) Kings
6) Angels
7) Ducks
8) Pepperdine Blue Wave BBall
9) Santa Anita
10) Hollywood Park
11) Dog park in Santa Monica
12) UC Northridge Field Hockey
.....
1000)  Los Angeles Clipper BBall.

League insisted on holding out for young pieces in CP3 deal. Getting Gordon AND Wolves' unprotected 2012 first-rounder is a haul right there

Everybody will forget the veto now. Stern made the right decision.

Tremendous vindication for Stern.  No bad contracts coming back.  A blue-chip young player in Gordon.  An almost sure-fire high lottery pick in a good draft. A valuable young prospect in Aminu.  And an expiring contract with some potential additional value at the trade deadline in Kaman.

Clippers gave up a ton.  Not crazy about the CP3/Billups backcourt.  Griffin/Jordan will need to really grow defensively.  But CP3/Griffin is a tremendous combo moving forward.

yep. I'm telling you, it was a lesson to small market owners. Exert your power and call bluffs.

Yeah that pick could be huge.  Eric Gordon coupled with Jared Sullinger or Harrison Barnes is a nice combo.

Can the Clippers cut Billups now? Or do they have to keep him until the season ends?

  • Thank you Eddie!
It is so awesome that it looks like the Lakers will fail to get both Paul and Howard.  Maybe they'll actually have to suck for a decade like the Celtics did when Kobe retires.

I think there are teams willing to trade for Mo.  As of his most recent market value he was worth Kyrie Irving and Baron Davis' contract!

I am guessing and hoping they'll be going for some fun Paul/Billups backcourt lineups.

Chris Mannix answered it.

On Billups, the Clippers cannot trade him. But they can outright cut him. It would be a huge waste of $2 million but they can do it.

As for Billups at two-guard, I don't see it. Tough matchup for him defensively. He will probably push to be let go.
