Costs about as much as one ticket to the game if that puts it in perspective.   I will pay it as I live out of market and love the Celtics.  Of course, you can watch every team or watch one and record another.   I think it's in very poor taste they are charging us full price for a reduced season though.   I may fire off an angry email.  If enough people do they will reduce it.

I might to the League Broadband as I have a Roku too.

Dang, that sucks.

I'll still probably be getting it.  :o I'm a junkie.

Same here.  $170 bucks for 2-3 hours of highly enjoyable entertainment on demand almost every day for 5 months?  Sign me up.
I agree, as a fan and of course since I'm not in the New England area it's a must get for me. I look at it like how much would I have spend if I were in the area attending actual games -- in comparison to the price it's a no brainer.

Now hopefully there are some Preseason games that will be aired, do they usually air any preseason games? I think I remember them airing some
Its free till January 8th this year, I think as part of the free trial period they show preseason games.

31 Celtics games are on national TV this year, so 35 games for the package. That works out to $4.83 per Celtic game.

I know they usually do run this, but curious was this actually posted somewhere from the NBA? Or is it a trial offered by your cable company?

Does that mean their reduced rate will come in February like it does every other year? If so, I might just wait it out for 3 weeks after the free trial period....

I really don't want to give them money for this BS price, but it's the only way I can see C games now that I got rid of DirecTV.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
so annoying that they don't run classic games on this service.

I don't know if anyone remembers, but League Pass used to provide a classic games section, where you could watch the Wolves vs Lakers (KG vs Shaq and Kobe), and other classic match up games.
Now we have to wait till the start of the season.
I mean they could at least show the 2011 finals or playoffs or something.
Even some NBA TV docos would be good.
I can't believe the balls of the NBA to stiff us like this.
Less games, more $$$ and they haven't improved the service one bit. It's like they never listen to positive input at all.
I'm really p---ed.
And by the way, if you want 15% off your subscription, use the code: RETSUB2011

slimey, greedy NBA pricks.
I have no choice but to buy it but their laziness never astounds me.

Read that last line again. One more time.

I am curious how much power the NBA has over this, and how much of it comes from the cable companies?

Maybe not if they are Wizards fans who get 65 or so games with the package, Celtics fans however....

Disappointing to say the least.  You would think the league - players, coaches, owners, networks, would do anything and everything they could to bring back the fan base.  I have seen little of this....

My guess is very little, from what I understand the provider keeps most of the money.

Does league pass work through a PS3?

I'd rather not have to sit and watch a laptop all night.

Someone on the first page quoted 31 games on national TV that's correct however there is also a free preview until January 8 which nets us 4 more games.  Basically they are giving us 35 games free this year on national tv, I'm having a really hard time as someone who NEVER misses a game spending 170 for 31 games now....
