According to his twitter, LA backing out of Chris Paul trade doesn't impact the deal. I mean I know it's Gary Tanguay, but the man called it when he said Rasheed was coming to Boston two years ago.

If he's right again, I'm glad. David West could be huge.

good, it shouldnt affect it. West is a free agent and if he wants to come to the celtics I cant see what should derail this

Ditto, it would be great news if true as long as we find another decent big for depth.

Where does he say Danny is going after him?

This is just speculation and he's just saying don't count Danny out.

Tanguay says yes, Blakely says unlikely:

Quote
A. Sherrod Blakely: #Celtics Jermaine O'Neal in practice, so the David West trade still not a done deal. I'm told it's starting to look 'slim' in happening

I tend not to believe either Tanguay or Blakely, so it's a tough call.

Yahoo! reported early SUN that Celtics were still trying to do sign-and-trade w/Hornets for West. Not immediately clear if Celts still at it

Aww man that sucks. I'm not sure its true though. If the Pacers end up with West its more likely because the Hornets couldn't find a taker for JO than West would rather play in Indiana.

This would really suck. West extends the C's window by 2 years...

if west wants to go to a winner though, I dont see how the pacers fit in there...theyre a 7th/8th seed 1st round loser at best.

I dont understand why its so hard to do a S+T..I really want west

On one hand, Gary Tanguay could be talking directly with Celtics insiders.  On the other hand he said Grant Hill was a done deal a year or two ago.

I also noticed that Indy was close to signing him for two years $20 mil.  I wouldn't be surprised if West is doing that so New Orleans does something so they don't lose him for nothing.  If they can get J.O. and another asset it might be worth it to them. J.O.'s expiring contract might not seem to fit with them now but could be an asset considering how many teams want cap space this summer.  I'd love to keep Jajuan.

guess west wasn't serious about going to a winner.

well, so much for that rejuvenating move by danny.

if west ends up on the pacers, danny is 0-2 so far in this short off-season on bold, risky moves that could totally change the teams' chances this year for the better.  but at least he's trying.

ya, NOH looks real stupid if they dont get this done...they end up with nothing instead of some assets at least.

you would think JO's expiring contract is at least an asset to have

well, it was a nice thought for a while, anyway.

i guess this off-season is all about the lakers and celtics thinking they've been successful in making major moves that will improve their teams and then finding out they were wrong.
