With Green signing a 1 year deal and by adding Marquis, Wilcox, Dooling for basically nothing and then upgrading Davis to Bass, I'm getting a little more comfortable about this roster.

So, it is my understanding that Amnestied players must pass a bidding contest before becoming UFA's. It is also my understanding that bids may only be made using actual cap room, not exceptions. So we can only get an amnestied player if they clear the bidding wars and choose boston over another destination (at that point we COULD use the MMLE because they'd just be another free agent.)

But, putting aside the confusion of amnesties, here's my new dream scenario (note: this is unlikely and all pieces need to occur for this to be the dream scenario):

1. Trading Rondo and JO for Paul

2. Using MMLE for 3 year 9 million deal for a center. In dream scenario, it's Dalembert.

3. Sign another vet C like Aaron Gray

4. One last random dirty worker like Craig Smith or emergency PG

5. Trot out the following opening day roster:
CPaul/Dooling
Allen/Marquis/Bradley/Moore
Pierce/Green
KG/Wilcox/JJ/Smith
MMLE (Dalembert)/Bass/Gray

6. Win the title in awesome fashion.

7. It turns out NJ was in total violation contacting Dwight. He is barred from signing there and they lose several draft picks.

8. Derron decides that he can't stick around a rebuilding process without picks.

9. C's renounce all possible FA rights, leaving them with Pierce and MMLE player and about 38 million capspace.

10. Derron and Dwight team up with Pierce and MMLE Center (now traded or on the bench) to form new core in boston, as CP3 goes wherever he so wants.

11. More titles.

I would give up on CP3. Focus on what we have now, which is actually a surprisingly good roster for the resources we had

Chris Paul disrespected us. I want no part in any player who tried so hard not to put on the Celtics green. Id rather have Deron Williams and hope that the league says Brooklynn is now not in option for the DH sweepstakes because of the tampering. So ideal scenario for me is those two here in green. Let Paul bicker with kobe for shots and who has the ball in their hands when the clock starts winding down.

I sort thinking the same thing...if he hates the Celtics (why?) , and all the nasty attitude ...he can go jump off a cliff for all I care now.

Hopefully the CLippers will get him and not LA , but I know I'm wishing...LA always gets their man.

Ill tell you this though. He certainly fits in well with that west coast me-first attitude. I'd love to see the drama in tinsletown if they cant land howard and the backcourt cant agree on who gets the ball where, when, and at what point in the shot clock.

This becomes a really bad trade for the lakers if howard is suddenly in NJ. Or (crossing my fingers) Boston. The chances of that though are slim to none. Or maybe somebody knows something i dont because im getting the feeling somehow someway jerry buss will get his man or two or three.

I agree with others on this.
I think the CP3 boat has sailed.
Kudos to Danny that once this became clear he moved quickly and decisively to fill out the roster.
Celtics fan for life.

I just have this gut feeling, Howard and Paul are going to land LA next year if not this year . LA will twist the arms of enough people one way or another and make the next LA dream team come true......just sickening.

Unlike others, I am fully on board with this dream scenario.  Sign me up.  I'm sick of the trade talk, and it won't happen, but add CP3 to this team and we're a title favorite.

screw Chris Paul - Rondo just needs to keep shooting until he gains confidence in his shot.  He is getting better.  Surround him with people as athletic as himself.

If Rondo ever developed a jumper, he'd be unstoppable.  But right now sometimes its like playing 4 on 5 because the defense does not respect his perimeter shot and collapses down on our guys in the paint or the ballcarrier as long as its not rondo.

Sounds like a broken record.

With the Big 3 and West on board, CP3's offensive advantage over Rondo is less important.  I'm all for keeping the more affordable/secure asset.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler
