ExplanationThe Celtics would love to trade Rondo for a star and give themselves flexibility moving forward, but New Orleans is going to play tough and hold out for as many draft picks as possible, something we aren't willing to shell out.
Jeff Green will accept his qualifying offer in an attempt to boost his free agent stock for the next offseason. This is a win-win for both sides as Green gets to boost value, and the Celtics don't have to commit to him long term.
The Celtics make a flurry of 1-year veteran minimum signings, welcoming back Delonte West and Marquis Daniels, as well as Michael Redd and Reggie Evans. Redd will be inclined to make a title run while proving he is healthy so he can cash in next offseason.
With our 'mini MLE', we will sign Landry as Davis' replacement. He is a bit more skilled than Davis, and wont try to take over a game with his jumpshot as Davis often tried to do. Like the others, he will take a 1-year deal for good money and cash in on the next offseason after playing for a premier team.
The Celtics find a trade suitor for Davis after shopping around, and convince the Nuggets that Davis can be a part of their future as they begin to rebuild. Chris Anderson will solidify the defense and rebounding of the second unit, and can step in and start if Jermaine O'Neal gets injured at any point in the season.
Our primary bench will consist of Delonte, Redd, Green, Landry and Anderson. This will provide solid defense, the ability to score, and shouldn't get run out of the gym by any other opposing benches. If we need more rebounding, we will have Marquis Daniels and Reggie Evans waiting on the bench as well. Bradley will be used in certain defensive matchups to makeup for Redd's lack of defense.
Rookies Moore and Johnson will see some time at the NBADL, with Moore likely spending the season down there. Johnson will get spot minutes after injuries to KG, O'Neal and Evans.
