The best way for the Celtics to obtain a quality Center is via trade, IMO. When your best possible free agent target is Kwame Brown, you need to look at different ways of getting someone who can produce. It's something i think Danny is looking in to and i wouldn't be surprised to see pieces like Avery Bradley, Jeff Green, draft picks and trade exceptions traded away for a center.

Possible targets: Zaza Pachulia, Spencer Hawes, Anderson Varejao, Ryan Hollins, Ben Wallace, Hasheem Thabeet, Chris Andersen, Darko Millicic, Marcin Gortat. All viable options.

Varejao is the guy that intrigues me. Is exactly what the Celtics need. The question is would Cleveland trade him? Most likely no but they'd have to at least listening if we were offering up a guy like Jeff Green.

I think the Celtics have more options than people think.

Too old to be trading Jeff Green + Avery Bradley

Come on

I would never trade Green or Bradley for Wallace, nor would anybody, but if the Celtics felt they needed a proven defender like Wallace, they have a trade exception from the Marquis Daniels trade that could be used.

I would love Varejao here.  He'll be expensive in assets though.  Jeff Green (he'd have to agree to go to Cleveland as well) and our Clips pick might get them to bite.

I'd love how many extra possessions Varejao and Rondo would generate for the Big 3.  Bring back West, Baby, Daniels, try to lure Dunleavy in with the mini-MLE.

Rondo/West
Ray/Dunleavy
Pierce/Daniels
KG/Baby
Varejao/JO

That's a contender.
