Quoted from ESPN NBA Rumors:

From Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated:

"Guy I think would fit really well in Boston, if he wants to keep playing: Joel Przybilla. Defensive minded enforcer in the middle."

With the Celtics losing Shaquille O'Neal (retirement), Kendrick Perkins (trade to Oklahoma City) and potentially Glen Davis via free agency, they could indeed be looking for help up front.

So Przybilla presents himself as an option.

Other available big men the C's could potentially target include Samuel Dalembert (though he'll have other suitors and may be too pricey), Hilton Armstrong, Kwame Brown, Aaron Gray, Earl Clark and Kyrylo Fesenko.
"There's sharks and minnows in this world. If you don't know which you are, you ain't a shark."

I would love to give Pryzbilla a shot here. I think him and JO, if both healthy, could give us great depth at the center position. Both long, lengthy, true centers with height that know how to play the position. Plus Im guessing Pryz would come fairly cheap for a center. Sign me up.

sign me up too, he's a great fit for us, cheap, big, tough, and defensive minded

What's the status on his health? I thought i remembered seeing something that it was not too good. If he can play I'd love him, but if he' a risk i think we have to look at Kwame, at least he stays healthy.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I hate to be cynical on these good threads everyone is making, but a duo of JO and Pryz sounds great, but the injury worries are off the charts for me.
How much of the season did Pryz miss last year? the whole playoffs right?

Kwame is the one we should be going for. Closest thing to a Perk replacement we'll get and he can start if JO goes down.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I'd love some combination of Przybilla, Gray, Kwame and Fesenko.

my thoughts exactley we wont have any ONE good center but we can have a combo of 3 or 4 sevricable centers

i'd like aaron grey & fesenko to for min deals & whoever else will take min deals since im in the understanding that we cant use a MLE without letting go of Jeff Green

There were some reports saying that Przybilla wanted to move back to Milwaukee. Backup Andrew Bogut.

It'll be interesting to see how much interest the Bucks show in him + how much they'll be willing to offer. They'll likely get first crack at him.

I'd take a shot on Gray to see how he could develop here.  See if Brian Doo could work a little magic as well.

Przybilla is cooked since the last injury. Not worth it.

Pryz has only played 70+ games 4 times.

He's the worth vet. min. as the third center. Get Kwame and him... Not too bad.

No more injury-prone big men please. This guy would be a band-aid fix anyway (plus he has no offensive game); not a long-term option to build with Rondo and Green.

Unfortunately, there are zero realistic options who fit the criteria of long-term options to build with Rondo and Green who also can help us now and are not injury-prone.
