The talk about Boston not being a big enough market is nonsense, IMO. Boston isn't a huge market, but it's still top 10 I believe. Win here and your face will be everywhere Rondo, Ray, Pierce, and Garnett prove it. And it's not like we're asking him to join the Raptors or Bobcats it's the Boston Celtics NBA Royalty. I'm not saying it's not a long shot, but I think theirs a chance. A lot of things have to go right between now and 2012 free agency though.
I think LA is as equally a long shot. In order to get Howard they'd have to lose 2 of Bynum, Gasol, or Odom and a pick or two. Gasol and Bynum is probably giving to much, Odom and Bynum isn't enough so it Gasol and Odom. Ok, then what do you do with Bynum? Trade him. After all the other stuff is figured out how long does Kobe have left in the tank. 2 years of contending until Howard's back in Orlando level mediocrity?
Brooklyn is the number one Howard contender. A young battle tested star, cap-space, and a big Market. The only question is whether or not he thinks they can contend from day 1. If not we might have hope depending on what Danny can do to this team between now and 2012 free agency.
