What about Villanueva? He's on that list.

Remember that whole "cancer patient" thing, I don't think Villanueva is too eager to play with KG or Boston.

But it did lead to a cool trending topic on twitter #KGtrashtalk

"Magician Howard, for a bloke of thine measurements, it's loathsome that thou conducts oneself so abysmally in the shaded area."

"Lord James, can thou truly be crowned King when one scurries from his own kingdom to frolic on the court of another knave? "

"my dearest competitor Lamar of the Odom clan, why hast thou chosen the ugliest of the sisters?"

I was kidding.

Of course, you may remember that KG and Perk were not the closest of friends before KG came here...

Heat fans and media people are chattering about Mike Miller possibly being amnestied (apparently he just had surgery on his hernia and will miss the first 8 weeks of the season).

Probably not someone who would be interested in us (Chicago or NY would probably offer him more of a role), but another name to add to the pile.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Haywood would probably be the ideal option.  He is still a very solid center, but is very overpaid, so Dallas might need to cut him loose to resign Chandler.  He may not be a star, but he could step in immediately, and either start or come off the bench behind JO, and give the C's a little stability at that position.

chandler  is not a better balla than big baby..

Chandler is not a better player than Big Baby... What you sippin on this time Bass?  Chandler is a much better player than Big Baby.

Doc and Miller have a great relationship. I love his skillset too, both rebounding and shooting, as well as an adequate passer and defender.

We didn't see his best last year in Miami (too bad for them).

The problem, with his fragility is that no one may see his "best" again, although he is still relatively young by Celtics' standards.

I think that if the price is right, though, he is worth the gamble of a roster spot.

One of the Bobcats beat writers, Rick Bonnell, argues that there is no value in amnestying DeSagana Diop this year.

http://blogs.charlotte.com/inside_the_nba/2011/11/tap-the-brakes-on-amnesty-for-diop.html

And after looking at the Bobcats salary situation and given their bleak free agent prospects -- nobody will want to join the Bobcats unless they are being vastly overpaid. Squad is too weak -- I have to agree with him. Bobcats shouldn't amnesty Diop, at least not this year. There is no added benefit.

They also note that Diop has played for Paul Silas before and played well. Silas had planned on using Diop in his rotation after joining the Bobcats last year but Diop's injury took him out of the equation. Pretty likely Silas will want to keep Diop around for 15-20mpg as a backup center.

Anyway ... so it looks like Diop is out of the equation.

Unfortunately so, Diop would have made a lovely minimum contract third string center. Excellent size, physical toughness, really good defense (well assuming he can recover from that injury). Pity.

Two other Bobcats tidbits

http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2011/12/01/2816901/center-is-bobcats-most-pressing.html

Another Bobcats article also talks about their need at center and that Diop is the only center currently on the roster.

(1) Perhaps more interestingly though, they talk about Kwame Brown as someone who might be out of their price range. That signing him to a substantial contract doesn't make sense for a rebuilding team. And that he might want to leave. They are not sure whether they can keep hold of him.

(2) Also notes that Biyombo's trial in Spain (suing for break of contract, trying to join NBA this year) doesn't start until December 19th. So there will probably be no resolution there until after FA ends. They'll likely have to plan their roster without him just in case he can't over this season.
