http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7094756/nba-player-rankings-16-20

I posted a thread about this in the forum dedicated to Celtics specific news wanting to find out what folks thought about our own guys' respective rankings.

In this thread, I thought it might be fun to try to guess the order of the ESPN basketball writers' top ten.

In alphabetical order, here are the players who have not yet appeared on the list: K. Bryant, K. Durant, B. Griffin, D. Howard, L. James, D. Nowitzki, C. Paul, D. Rose, D. Wade, D. Williams.

Feel free to debate whether these are the rightful top ten, and what order you would put them in if you had a vote.  What I'm trying to do, though, is simply to guess what order ESPN will come up with, with no regard to my own personal opinion.

Here goes:

10. Deron Williams
9.  Blake Griffin
8.  Kobe Bryant
7.  Chris Paul
6.  Dirk Nowitzki
5.  Derrick Rose
4.  Kevin Durant
3.  Dwayne Wade
2.  Dwight Howard
1.  Lebron James
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

  • Rondo = Good
Blake Griffin in the top 10?

Utterly ridiculous.  He's good, but not nearly that good.

Wade
Kobe
Paul
Durant
Dirk
Rose
Deron

10. Blake Griffin (?)
9. Rose
7 1/2. Paul
7. Williams
6. Kobe Bryant
5. Dirk
4. Kevin Durant
3. Dwight
2. DWade
1. LeBron James

Assuming Kobe's ongoing decline and Dirk's so-far graceful aging.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Kobe, Rose, and Griffin were the hardest to rank.  Anything's possible.

7.     kobe
6.     wade
5.     paul
4.     james
3.    dirk
2.     rose

this is how i think it should be based on the 10 players left.
but the voting will probably turn out more like this...

6. howard
5. dirk

Griffin came in at number ten today.  That puts most of you in the lead, except for me who actually thought ESPN would put him ahead of D. Williams.
