Trade to announce - we've both confirmed with the commish but he isn't here it seems.

Rusted Rims trade:

Elton Brand
Drew Gooden
Randy Foye

Gainesville Celtic trade:

Tyrus Thomas
Corey Brewer
GC's 1st rd pick.

I definitely am worse off this year but I feel much better about my squad's future.  I feel like I sold high on Brand but I'm not sure if it was quite as high as it could've been.

I'm higher on Gooden than most it sounds... he's a knucklehead, but a solid 12/8 guy.

I got tired of waiting on Thomas -- which mean's he'll be All-NBA this year.  :P ;D

I was shocked when I realized Gooden's still just 30.  That made the deal a little tougher, but I think there's a decent chance he gets amnestied by the Bucks (there's def some competition though) and winds up a backup somewhere.  But he definitely is much better by numbers than reputation.

At the same time, I've been wrong plenty of times, and I hope this turns into a win-win for both of you.  Also, my assessment of this trade has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I made a trade offer on Brand and didn't get a counter-offer. ;)

Thought about a counteroffer but your guys are mostly either too good for me to expect to be able to pry them away for a price I'd be willing to pay, or role players/prospects I'm not too interested in.

I also really wanted another 1st and I don't think yours will be very good with that roster.

Like i said, I'm unlikely to move Jefferson or Westbrook unless it's for a top-10 guy.

Like this one for CK.  I'm sure it comes down to team needs, though.

Yeah, I needed a center-eligible player so I got a little older with Scola, getting a few more stats. MK took a flier on Williams regaining his fantasy stature (while being 2 years younger) on a team where he can get easy assists with Griffin/Jordan finishing at the hoop.

I'm more upset to lose Pekovic after sitting on him for a year. I think he's gonna eventually blossom into fantasy gold with the T-Wolves. If Webster can contribute/stay healthy that'll be a nice bonus for me.

I needed a PG and Williams fit the bill. He'll help me in 3s and assists.

I hate to see Scola go. He is an 18/8 guy and a young 31 b/c he only has ~350 games under his belt. Webster produces when healthy.

I really like Pekovic. I think he will be pretty good, but it may take a while b/c the Wolves roster is stuffed with players.

We will see how is goes. Hopefully, we will both make out here.

Hm, solid deal. Someone is going to win this one hands down. Hinrich has been the player to own, but GC is either betting Fernandez will win the starting SG job in Dallas or Teague will become the starting point guard in Atlanta. With nary a training camp who's to say he's wrong?

Also, worth pointing out that all of this recent flurry of trade activity is pending Lucky's approval.

(Or are we on league vote these days?)

Thanks for your thoughts, I agree that this trade can go either way, and it's hard to know without a training camp. Of course, all trades are pending Lucky's approval, which is why this time I tried to carefully word it as a "trade to report" instead of trade to announce. I'm like an ESPN insider here  ;D
