I'm not really in a position to give advice since I just dealt Adrian Peterson for Greg Jennings in a 1/2PPR league.

I have Fred Jackson and Ryan Matthews, so I felt like I coudl deal Peterson. Problem was since we only start 1 RB (and no flex) most other teams have a decent enough option at RB that they wouldn't move much (i.e. Brees, Andre Johnson, etc)

Yeah realistically I'm getting identical production out of newton so far, and assuming all the fantasy people screaming buy CJ now are right, I'm getting 8-9 more points from my running backs a week. Hopefully it works out that way.

I just traded

Arian Foster
Steve Smith (waiver wire pickup before week 1)

for

Frank Gore
Steven Jackson
Dwayne Bowe
Owen Daniels

I was starting Mark Ingram as my 2nd rb so I think I got a steal here!

Besides, alot of risk with Smith and Foster. Gore and Jackson have been steady for years and Gore is blowing up right now.

Which Steve Smith?

I'm guessing the one from Carolina (aka, the Steve Smith that you could have had, but you preferred Ocho Cinco).

;D He was getting greedy because he already had Ray Rice and Felix Jones. Now he is banking on Foster and Smith staying healthy all year.

Yup Carolina Steve Smith. AKA Superhuman Deion Branch. I cant believe so many people forgot about him but I guess that happens when you have terrible QBs throwing to you for years.

It isn't a terrible trade.  Foster is clearly the best player in the trade and it isn't like Jackson and Gore are pictures of health (though both seem to be healthy now).  Smith is better then Bowe and far more consistent to boot and Daniels is a mid-level TE.  The guy has Ray Rice and Felix Jones (though he is missing time now), but come playoff time he has an upgraded RB spot (Foster from Gore) and an upgraded WR spot (Smith from Bowe) and doesn't lose much if anything in the flex (Jones and Jackson are about the same).

Action: 16 teams with a shallow bench. PPR, but no slot Pos. But, since sproles is a lock for 10+ pts even without a score, best is my 3rd rb right now. I just traded for Chris Johnson, WRs are Jennings, Williams(tb) and colston

Roy: brown would only be my Best insurance, as Schwartz is barely saying 'boo' about the concussion. Should I remove Brown from the waiver list? I'm cutting a second kicker I had to pick up when Novak was on the bye

Tps all around
I'd sign Murray with waiver 1 and Palmer with waiver 2.  I'd waive Tebow to sign Palmer.

Brown is on a new team that has 2 other RB's that will see time.  At least with Murray you know what you are going to get and it appears Murray will be the TD guy.  Williams, Morris, and now Brown is a complete clusterfrack.  No one knows who would emerge as the lead back, the TD back, the third down back, etc. and that is only if Best misses time.  You know Jones is out in Dallas for at least this week and probably 2 or 3.

Here is my question

Cutler, Flacco, or Ryan

You get .2 per completion, -.25 per sack, -2 per INT, 6 per TD, 1 for every 25 yards, 5 extra points at 300, 2.5 extra at 350, 2.5 extra at 400

Cutler is @ Tampa, Flacco is @ Jax, and Ryan is @ Det.

I have Ryan and Eli Manning on my team (Eli is on bye).  I would waive Ryan if I were to pick up Cutler or Flacco (who for some reason are both in waivers).  I expect to use Eli after this week (he is a good deal better then the other 3 this year) though may do a matchup game so there is some thought beyond this week (Flacco has had his bye already as well, the others haven't).

I'd start Cutler against Tampa.  Of the 3 oppenents listed, their pass D is the most suspect, IMO.

In the end I decided to neither poop or get off the can. In a 16 team league, I decided I'd be better off using my waiver priority on a sure thing, and I didn't think Palmer was such a huge upgrade over Tebow, especially in the immediate sense.

To be honest I thought it was a pretty fair trade but I definitely made my team better. Smith and Bowe are equals in my opinion but the other team thought along the same lines that you are.

Both Smith and Bowe have only had one bad game. Bowe gets in the end zone more frequently, is pretty durable, and younger. (thinking Smith might breakdown around playoff time).
