Is there really any reason we can't do another CBD in 6-8 weeks?
The biggest reason is burnout. By keeping the CB Draft to a once a year thing, it builds anticipation, interest, etc. Do it to often, and you risk the novelty of it wearing off.
In general I agree -- and think that there would be MUCH less interest if/when there were real Basketball to discuss.
That said this year seems to present a hopefully-once-in-10-year-opportunity.
if October/November comes and the players are still locked out --- don't ever forget it's the owners who've locked the players out --- and fantasy baseball season is over I, for one, will have a bit of time on my hands.
So what am I supposed to do with my work day now that this is over?
Seconded. 2K11 roster league?

We'd prob be able to draw in a few GMs who were busy.
If we expanded to 26 or 28 teams + a new draft order + how people value players differently, it'd be a totally diff draft.
Would folks be more or less scared of drafting Lebron? Do guys who were value picks become overvalued?
I'd do whatever I can as a non-Mod to make it happen
If there's a lockout, I'm sure people will have a newfound lot of extra time on their hands, so it could happen.
I don't see why people are going to value players any differently though. What has made people change their minds? Not basketball, that's for sure.
I also think 24 teams turned out pretty good. I guess 26 to 28 wouldn't be bad, but quality of activity is more important than quantity in this game.
Sorry, my point wasn't that individual GMs would rank players differently but rather the fact that we all differ on who we value PLUS having a different draft order will mean the draft will be very different even though no more games have been played.
A simple example. Let's say that the lottery gods stop handing me picks in the 20s and I got Pick #10 -- where IP took Amare Stoudemire. I personally had 4 guys ranked ahead of him that were available at that pick, so Amare would go lower (or maybe someone with a higer pick already nabbed him) after that first pick, a lot more happens b/c of fit/roles/who's available, etc.
there *could* be some backing off of certain players b/c of perceived "value" --- would players like Nick Young slide even further b/c a GM thinks they'll have an uphill battle "defending" the pick? (Personally I wouldn't, but that throws yet another variable into the mix). On the flipside does someone go out and grab a guy earlier than they were drafted just now, because eveyrone said "love the pick"...
