Great post offense, great rebounding, great outside shooting, and great penetration. A great bench (let's say Gooden, Dampier, Lee, and Jefferson). The defense would have been average, but not terrible.
So RJ at the 3 where his defense is worse and this is the same Eric Dampier who didn't play in the post season for the Heat? And Gooden, that's still Drew and not Doc, right?
Picking at nits. Also, I'm quite happy with Jefferson at the 3, and Rashard, too. Gooden produces. Dampier wasn't a great fit for Miami's system -- he's more of a half-court player -- but he can still play defense and rebound.
I meant to type Rashard at the 3, and if you're happy with Rashard you're crazy. his defensive strengths are that he's stronger and longer than he looks so he can battle fours, but his foot speed is atrocious and consistently gets burned by threes. And it's not picking at nits to say that they only legit 7 footer you have is not good enough at defense and rebounding to get off the bench to help a title contender that needed a 7 footer who could defend and rebound.
Hey, it's not my fault Erik Spoelstra didn't see the value in a slower, but more intimidating defensive and rebounding big man. At the very least, Dampier is a rich man's version of Jason Collins.
As for Lewis at SF, I don't know what to tell people. He played primarily small forward in Washington, and he outproduced his opponents there. If others aren't seeing it, there's not much I can say to convince them.
