From the other thread:

Ray was 15th in the NBA in assist per game for all SG, but he plays a high # of minutes and he is only 26th at SG in AP48M (among qualified players).  Players like Kevin Martin, Ronnie Brewer, Ben Gordon were all ahead of him there.  None of whom I think are particularly good passers.
If you're going to use per minute statistics do it right and use pace adjusted stats. The Celtics play a very slow game of basketball.

Kevin Martin and Ben Gordon both are behind Ray Allen when you do that, though Ronnie Brewer stays ahead.

Another player that Ray Allen gets more assists on a per possession basis, Kobe Bryant. Is he a well rounded shooting guard?

Could you link me to that?  Because Kobe almost doubled Ray's assists per game last season in about the same number of minutes.  So that would mean that the Lakers had twice as many possessions as the Celts...
Link

I was referring to the assist ratio statistic. Basically Kobe uses the ball a heck of a lot more than Ray so he gets way more assists. But when you look at the percentage of their possessions ending in a shot, free throw, turnover, or assist then Ray Allen has a slightly higher assist ratio.

Now does that mean Ray Allen is a better "play maker" than Kobe? Heck no, but I'm just trying to demonstrate that for his role on the C's Ray Allen gets his fair share of assists.

The El Salvador CrotorKungFuPandas!

C     Elton Brand     Kwame Brown
P.F.  Antawn Jamison  Nick Collison  Ryan Gomez
S.F.  Wilson Chandler TWO PICKS LATER 12th and 13th to lock D
S.G.  Monta Ellis     Tracy McGrady
P.G.  Deron Williams, Juan Jose Barea

I really really really like my team

Kwame and Collison were great pickups. I still really dislike Elton Brand/Antawn Jamison as both a pairing, as well as a fit for your team.

I like Brand as a center on that team.  I'm not sold on Jamison, though.

What part of Jamison was tanking poeple isnt getting

Jamison is as good at anyone in his position and great to have with Deron scoring SHots like Rashard will do
Hype on shard and down on Jamison is something i cant get specially when Jamison is Waaay better than Shard in almost every part of the game

Tanking was the name of the game last year

p.s. With Collison, Ryan and The very own Brand behind against big PFs that shouldnt be a problem either

p.s.2. One year ago, randolph wasnt worthy of tying Jamison shoes, now hes the next Superman  :( ???

Not to mention the amazing rotation on guards..

Once a CrotorNat always a CROTORNAT  2 times CB draft Champion 2009-2012

Nice to be back!

Pg: Conoly JR/ K Irving
SG: Rip Hamilton/Miles
SF: Durant/Miles
PF:Scola
C:Perkins/Joel Anthony

I have the next two picks but not really sure who to take?

Thoughts? Comments on this team.

Start CJ Miles over Rip Hamilton
Please don't do that.

I think Rip can still play at a high level. And on that team with Durant garnering so much attention and alongside a PG like Conley and two screen setters like Perk and Scola, I think he can flourish.

Wouldnt even think about doing that because I think Hamilton would flourish off of Durant.

I really think that team could use the defense more than Rip's offense.

SG J.J. Redick/ Thabo Sefolosha
SF Danilo Gallinari
PF Blake Griffin/Channing Frye
C Kevin Garnett

Explain to me why all those negative reports that framed Rubio as merely 'pedestrian' at best from Europe should just be disregarded.

I'm happy to chase this down the rabbit hole with you, but let's face it us serious NBA-heads have already made up our minds. So here's the short-ish answer courtesy of Canis Hoopus:

Pascual has forced Rubio in to a lot of off-the-ball play and spot up shooting for which he's ill suited, the backcourt is over-crowded, etc. Still...

Quote
Even if we focus on the numbers Rubio put-up with Barca, he still projects to be a pretty special player.  Even with Barca, Rubio proved to be a dominant off-ball player, leading all ACB point-guards in both steals and rebounds.  Additionally, while his assists have fallen from his ridiculous 2008-09 rate (which was a standard deviation better than the next best player's) Ricky is still top three in the ACB over the last two years.  It isn't all rosy, as is clear when you look at Rubio's terrible scoring statistics, but Rubio does three things: pass, steal, and rebound, better than any point-guard in Europe.

So define "pedistrian" for me? Also, just my 2 cents, too many American sports writers still willfully discount the talent disparity between Euroleague play and even the best NCAA programs.

But what do you think of this prospects?

I think Rip is an above average defender

CJ Miles = average defender

I'd have to say I disagree on both accounts.

Lowry/Sessions
Harden/Garcia
Delfino/Derrick Williams
Amar'e/Derrick Williams
Bogut/Splitter

FTW.

I really don't know what to make of Carlos Delfino.

Other than that, I really love your team. I seem to be in limited company, but I think you've got a good shot at winning it all, IP.

To those saying there's only one threat in the Atlantic division:

PG Jrue Holiday/ Rodney Stuckey
SG Eric Gordon
SF Luol Deng/ James Jones
PF Tim Duncan/ Taj Gibson/ Darrel Arthur
C Greg Monroe

I like Delfino as a 5th starter.

I really like your team. I think it's an under-rated squad.

The starting five is very talented and Kyrie Irving should make a very good backup PG.

I still really don't like Scola and Perkins together. Not the athleticism in the frontcourt I'd like to have around Durant and Conley, and Perk is going to get himself in ridiculous foul trouble setting picks for Rip, but that's probably the same for any 2 guard.

RE: Delfino

He's strong as heck. Great shooter.

I'm concerned a little bit about the lack of foot speeed between Delfino and Harden.

I haven't watched enough Bucks games to really get a feel for him, can he get out in transition?

I still hate the Griffin/Garnett/ Frye troika.

PG: Cp3, Jennings
SG: JRich, Roy /Webster
SF: Magette, Dunlevey /Webster
PF: Bass, Beasley (6th man)
C: Mcgee, Birdman

Decided to push Beasley to 6th man for more scoring off the bench (and so he doesn't get winded by the end of the game). Also I know some people like the Webster pick but I just happened to need a bench 2/3 option more then anything else.

Anyone willing to part with a bench 4/5 PM with offers. I still have 10.8, 11.17, 13.17.

I kind of miss being the team everyone hates now that I got a few compliments. O well, nicknames never really die  :)

If you had one above average defender aside from CP3 in that group, it would be scary.

Got a rotation now so I'll finally post my team.

Hinrich/Douglas
Wade/Douglas
Iguodala/Hedo
K-Mart/Hedo/Lopez
Varejao/Lopez

Not sure where I'm going with my next pick yet.  Probably either a shooting PG or larger wing defender next to Toney Douglas.  That or a scoring forward.

This team would be dirty if it didn't rely on Kenyon Martin to play more than 66 games.
