It's hard to imagine that barely over a year ago Charlotte had SJax, Gerald Wallace, Raymond Felton, Boris Diaw, Tyrus Thomas, Nazr Mohammed, Larry Hughes, and Tyson Chandler.

That was a playoff team if I'm not mistaken, and one HECK of a defense.

A year later they're down to what?  Tyrus Thomas and Boris Diaw?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

That lineup stinks. Its mediocre... Either be a contender or be horrible to stack assets like Boston and Okc did (in different ways) to get great.

And DJ Augstin, plus two lottery picks.

Rick Cho has officially started the rebuilding process.

I never said they were a contender, just that they got rid of a lot of talent quick.

salmons actually only has 24 mill left over three years - since SAC dumped Udrih they are not taking on that much more salary, just the extra year.  They'll probably be the Seattle Supersonics by that point.

Tyson Chandler, S-jax, Gerald Wallace, DJ Augustin, and Ray Felton were all legit assets they had.  Charlotte did need to disband the team because they were all terrible fits with one another, but did a horrible job in getting value back for any of them.

Regardless, Mgent has a point. And it was still a mistake to give away Tyson Chandler and trade Gerald Wallace for cents on the dollar simply to break up a play-off also ran.

EDIT - Whoops, what Action said. Although I like this latest return well enough for the Bobcats.

They were talented but their contract weren't great and it's not like they hadn't tried to shop all those guys. Dallas hit big with Chandler but he wasn't their top choice by any means with the Dampier contract. In fact he was supposed to be the backup originally behind Haywood. No one wanted Jackson or Wallace's contract unless it was a salary dump or Charlotte would take back a bad contract. Felton was a throw in to make salaries match in the Denver trade and no one wants Augustin...

Chad Ford: Corrected deal: Bucks get Beno, Stephen Jackson, Shaun Livingston & 19. Bobcats get pick 7 & Maggette. Kings get 10 & John Salmons. Twitter

Did anyone get better in this trade?

Hahaha, my thought exactly.  A big head scratcher all around.  I'd say that the Kings are about the same, Bobcats are worse, but maybe can do something with the picks, Bucks are better, but not by much.

Sactown has to be looking to pair Freddette with Tyreke Evans.

YIKES!!!!!

Neither is a great ball handler or floor general type player. They both look exclusively for their shot first. AND now they will have Salmons and Cousins crying about a lack of touches.

What a cluster........

I have a gut feeling someone is going to swoop in and take Fredette before #10.

Contracts aside, the franchise took a straight-up vertical nose-dive this past season.

Didn't get nearly enough value for their 4 all-star level players, and Diaw, Thomas, and DJ Augustine are the worst building blocks in the league.

I rarely ever say this, but I agree with Hollinger 1000% in his assessment of the trade:
