I think that if Howard comes to Boston, it will be because of Rondo.  Those are two guys who could rewrite NBA history together.

That's a little extreme.

Granted they'd be fun to watch the first 46 minutes of every game, but those last two minutes would be borderline painful trying to eke out one FT each trip to the line.

Of course, they could work on their FT shooting and become unstoppable together.

The question is...why do WE want to work with him?

They will not let this idea die.

And as a Celtics fan with hope, I eat it right up.

Come on Howard.  Fall in love with playing with Rondo under Doc.

Don't Dwight and Rajon have a somewhat 'off' sense of humor?  I could see them either really clicking or really clashing together.

1. Howard is what, 25 or 26?
2. He's been in the league for 6 years.
3. If he doesn't move now - he;ll be a 10 year Vet at the end of an extension with Orlando. Another KG story...

4. Guys like this need to be with great franchises.

5. He could go to LA but he won't find anyone named Doc or Rondo in LA.

6. Kobe is on his way down, not up and Pau is soft and pushing 30.

7. Point and Center, fill in the gaps. Howard knows this.

8. New York? Would he ever see the ball by the time Melo and Stoudemire get done with it?

9. As odd as it seems, Boston is a very logical place for Howard to land.

10. I've said this before, watch the moves Danny Ainge makes and it will tell you alot about whether he thinks he can get Howard. If the players Danny adds would compliment and uptempo game built around Howard, it will give you and idea.

11. Jeff Green was the first piece and the reason for trading Perk. Spend your big money on Howard, put people on the wings who can fly with Rondo.

12. Then draft a PF this year who can get up and down the court and has a very good mid range jump shot that will stretch the floor for Howard.
* JuJuan Johnson and Trey Thompkins are probably on Danny's radar this year.

Howard needs to make a decision about his career. If he stays in Orlando and it remains status quo, he's going to wallow in mediocrity his whole career, like KG did until he came to Boston.

He needs to get to a franchise where legends of the game play.

How the Knick with Paul, Melo and Stoudemire
The Heat with James, Wade and Bosh
The Celts with Howard, Rondo and...

Fasten your seat belts folks, it's going to be a bumpy ride!!

Ya I had this same thought.  Hard to imagine them getting along too well.

Rajon has an 'off' sense of humor.  Dwight's is just corny.

As I said, Doc's a bargain: he knows how to blend Rondo's personality with other players better than anyone.

i wish, i wish, i wish that Dwight comes to play here. It's obviously a joke, but jokes are half-meant right? and Ray Allen at 37 or KG at 35 or whatever would still better than any bench player out there.

This would be amazing. Great championship teams revolve around great big men. KG's on the downside, Howard would be an amazing replacement. Hope Doc and Rondo can put the bug in his ear, and hope he listens.

Well why else, he's not coming here for the weather.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

I guess it's a joke, as he mentioned Jordan and Lebron, too. But, he did put Doc and Rajon's names in the same sentence as Hedo, which seems reasonable. It's so hard to tell what is a joke and what is not when it's in writing.

It would obviously be freaking amazing to get Dwight to land in Boston. It's a longshot, but, frankly, it's a longshot for any team right now.

Umm...pretty sure he was making a joke.

dont think he can afford to make a joke like that when Orlando is panicking whether or not hes leaving

hes just adding oil to fire because he wont sign that 2 year extension

This is confirmation that he is considering us.

Joking or not, the only coach he listed was Doc and pretty much implied he thought Rondo was a better passer then Jameer.

I don't think anyone will debate this. Jameer is a bad passer for a PG, his vision is severely lacking. It really hurts Dwight on the P&R and also in post entry passing.
