CP3 could be realistic considering that he is for sure leaving NOH.  I don't like that trade though.  Rondo and Nash are probably playing at right around the same level right now, but Rondo is like 10 years younger, so has more trade value going forward.  Also, Rondo is a huge help when healthy against Miami because he can guard Wade or LeBron for brief stretches, Nash can't.

Upgrading the PG position, as many think, isn't gonna really help with the same 2,3,4. I'm against dealing Rondo but if you aren't I don't see why not package him in a deal for a big that will make an improvement. The PG spot is not what leads to titles. This year and the previous titles have shown that. Is it really that hard to get?

anyone forget Iggy and the sixers?

Is there something in particular to remember about them in this context?

Why would you trade RR and his valuable contract for Nash who is 37 and on the back nine of his career?

JO has arrived at the last stage of his career and no way does Phx. risk Gortat.

This trade has been mentioned on here before. If Ainge is still in win now mode, and he thinks this trade can help put them over the top, I don't see why he wouldn't explore it. It sacrifices cap flexibility in the future, but it would make the team better in the present. If this deal were to happen, I would want a future unprotected pick from Phoenix as well.

Yeah great idea. Lets trade our young, not yet in his prime, championship point guard of the future for a late 30's running on empty point guard who cant play a lick of defense! best idea ever!  ::)

I think this has been proposed before, but I would like it.  Gortat was a beast late in the season, when he finally got to start, and I think Nash makes the C's a more formidable team next year for one last run at the title.  Then, it really wipes the slate clean in 2012 if we want to try to reload.

While I like Rondo, I just am not sold on him as a building-block going forward.  So, I like Gortat at a cheaper price, and then see what we can put around him and Pierce, after hopefully one last championship run with this group.
