Which player do you think are better than our starting 5?

Starting 5
Rondo
Allen
Pierce
Garnett
JO

Player I think are better (questionable ones have "?" following them)

PG: Rose, CP3, Williams, Westbrook(?)
SG: Kobe, Wade, Joe Johnson, Evans(?), Steph Curry,  (healthy)Ginobili, (healthy)Roy
SF: Lebron, Durant, Melo, Rudy Gay(?), Louol Deng(?)
PF: Amare, Dirk, Griffin, Love, Pau Gasol, Aldridge, Bosh, Zach Randolph(?), Boozer(?)
C: Howard, Cousins, Perkins, Noah, Brook Lopez, Chandler, Mcgee, Nene, Bynum, Horford, Duncan, Marc Gasol, Big Al, Kaman, DeAndre Jordon, Bogut, (healthy)Greg Oden, probably more too.

Oh shoot I forgot to throw Scal in under PF's  ;D

So what do you guys think?

You had me with the PG's.

You lost me after (Tyreke?) Evans.

People just don't understand what Ray does for a teams offense, even if he isn't shooting. Granted, all of that is undone by Rondo on this team, but Ray is a very unique talent. Many guys can do what Tyreke, JJ, Ginoboli, etc. do, which is score 1-on-1.

Oh, it's a joke... or you are confused.

PG : CP3 ( But i prefer Rondo), Williams.
SG : Kobe, Wade, No Other.
SF : LeBron, Durant, No Other ( Maybe Anthony, but he is only a scorer)
PF : Dirk, no Other
Center : Everyone in the league

How can you not include Rose with the PG's? He won the MVP or is that not legit anymore either?

If the knicks are better than us in two positions then why did we annihilate them in the playoffs?

Deandre Jordan wouldn't do anything on a healthy JO even now.

Dear oh dear

  • Rondo = Good
Is the idea to rank each member of our starting 5 in their respective positions?

I'd say Rondo is the 5th or 6th best point guard out there.  Maybe the 3rd or 4th when he's really on his game.  I'd put CP3, Rose, D-Will, and Westbrook ahead of him.

As for Ray, I'd have him behind Wade, Kobe, Kevin Martin, Manu Ginobili, and Joe Johnson.

Paul is behind only LeBron, Durant, and Melo at SF.

I'd rank KG behind Dirk, Z-Bo, Amare, Pau, LMA, K-Love, and Blake Griffin -- just barely ahead of guys like Chris Bosh, Boozer, and Josh Smith.

As for JO, there's no point in doing a ranking; suffice to say he's behind a long list of guys.

I am sure you realize there are 5 positions in the game of basketball and that 3 is a higher number than 2. Also, we had a better bench than they did. Plus, our coaching is better.

You said it all... healthy. Jordon played in 80 games. Also, he averaged more points, blocks, and rebounds per 48 minutes.

I put KG as the 3rd or 4th best PF. He's no longer a plus offensive player but he's still the best defensive PF in the league.

Other than that I think your rankings are reasonable, though a few players have equivalent value at this point in my mind. (Melo/Pierce)

What is with the obsession over Deandre Jordan?  He averages 7 a night for a lottery team.

To answer the question though:  first I have to mention that Evans has been playing PG for SAC, and Steph Curry is ABSOLUTELY a PG.
1. CP3, Rose, Williams, maybe Nash, maybe Westbrook
2. Kobe, Wade, Manu, maybe Joe Johnson, Roy when healthy
3. LBJ, Durant, Melo
4. Dirk, Aldridge, Amare (if he's a 4), Gasol, maybe Love, maybe Z-BO, maybe Griffin
5. I don't have this kind of time.

I am pretty much on the same page as poslmpos.  And anyone who doesn't think that LMA is better than KG is outta their mind.  He is the undisputed best player on a Western Conference playoff team and puts up like 23 and 9.  He is arguably a top 15 player and will be in the top 10 in the next season or two.

Both. Rose would probably help this team over rondo, but the MVP was never more than a manifestation of short sighted media infatuation.

Amare stoudemire is not a better overall player than Kevin garnett.

Deandre Jordan is a 2nd round center and will always be a second round player. 80 games or not. There. Insanity over.
