This is way too late, but I just finished a rerun and I'm telling you this was an awesome show and I miss it.

Very good writing.  Like they scooped up all the female writers on the office with interesting mother relationships.

For example. That asian mom just told her daughter that the cookie monster represents one of the seven deadly sins...gluttony.  She's absolutely right.

I miss Lauren Graham

I miss Alexis Beidls.

I miss that Kirk guy.

And I think Sally Sturthers was on it, right?

I thought this was going to be a thread about James and Wade. Seriously.

Oooooh, man. I was totally addicted to this show for the longest time after my friend showed me one episode. I believe I watched all seven seasons in two weeks. Also fairly sure that 99% of my current pop culture knowledge comes from this show.

But, uh, wow. I'm quite impressed at your spelling of 'Bledel'  :P

And Sally Struthers was Babette, the epitome of the cat lady. Oh how I miss this show.

I think that was one of those shows that was pretty lame but seemed way better than it was because the chicks were hot.

For a modern example, see Vampire Diaries.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Well... Gilmore Girls was actually critically lauded for its dialogue and class themes; plus a really good supporting cast. Whereas Vampire Diaries isn't really ...lauded for anything.

Then again, this is coming from a girl, so I could be totally off.

Well yeah, it's obviously aimed at girls.  I got a sister that swears by it.

As a guy, it actually is entertaining and well written. The hot girls are just a bonus.

Yeah i'm a girl, and I like the show (not for the girls). i think it's mostly aimed at women so the pretty women aren't really a draw.

Confession: My wife got me to start watching it. I hated it at first, but grew to kind of like it.

Watched it because I was 13 and had a crush on Rory, continued to watch it because it was good.

The one with the bells where Luke was moving and Lorelai didn't like it and he came and shoveled her walk and in the mean time Lane runs away from her mom to try to hide with Rory at Yale

really good episode

See I think the girls are hot and the writing was the bonus. Otherwise you're saying the tv equivalent of "I read it for the articles."

See what I mean?

The whole reason I got into the show was my wife was watching it and they were both on and I was like "What are those friends doing"? And my wife said "That's the mom and that's the daughter." Ridiculous I thought to myself.  "That's the mom and that's the daughter?" I said. "Tell me more".

And that's how I became hooked for years and still love that show.

I think I sorta even like Paris, but only so much

Loved that one. Love Luke, definitely one of my favorite characters. Although ... did you know that the actor who plays Luke once pitched for the Yankees? True fact.

Is that the origin behind the baseball cap?

The coolest character is by far the Yale bowtie guy.
