Who says no?
Boston trades Jermaine O'Neal, Avery Bradley, 2011 first rounder (#25), 2012 2nd rounder (from Minnesota via Cleveland)
Golden State trades Andres Biedrins and 2011 first rounder (#11)
So you want GSW to give up the best player in the deal as well as the highest draft pick in the deal for...a washed up injured center, a very young unproven 2nd year player, a 1st round pick at the bottom of the draft and a 2nd rounder? Not sure why they would do that.
They might because Biedrens is damaged goods, especially psychologically.
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2011/04/29/SPUQ1J9Q4A.DTLHe has 4 years at $9 million per left on his contract.
This is lot of $$$ for someone who's game has gone south the past two years. He shot 16% from the FT line 2 years ago and 53% last year.
He has two things going for him: his youth (25) and athleticism.
GSW may do it to get from under his contract. We might not do it because of his contract.
Personally, I'd take the gamble on him if I were the Cs.
Giving up a JO (whom I have been a fan of)who may or may not play next year and if so (will he be healthy?), AB and two lesser picks for the
potentiallybetter player in the trade and a higher pick to give us more flexibility to maneuver is a gamble I would take.
If Biedrens gets his head back together, we do well. If not, his big contract doesn't take us completely out of the Dwight Howard sweepstakes in 2012. And if he turns it around, he could be a piece we move for Howard in a trade.
Risky for us more than for GSW. Upside more for us than for GSW.
