I confirm Russell.  I couldn't pass up the best player being on my team one way or the other.

Why not right?  My team is so good they don't even need a coach.  They will just go where they want the ball and Oscar will deliver it perfectly.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

With their pick in the coach's round of.the CB Historical Draft the Chicago Bulls select:

 Pat Riley

For some reason I saw this coming.

Same here.  He coached Magic and played with West.

I can't believe Phil was on the board that long.  Sure he has the most rings, but he also got those rings by coaching teams with all time greats and huge egos and getting them to mesh and play well together, when other coaches couldn't.  I thought long and hard about him over Red, but ultimately felt the same could also be said of Red and Red didn't run the triangle, so I went with him.  No way Phil should have gone past #2.  You just can't disregard the results.

The thing about this draft that I actually really like is that even if someone makes a misjudged pick, or decides to shore up their bench without finishing their frontline, there is still so much of a chance to make it work.

You need shooters? There's HOF caliber talent. You need versatile big men? Some of the best that ever played are still there. Scoring punch? Scoring title winners populate the available players list.

Pretty cool.
