With our offseason here, now comes the times of dreams, ruminations and unrealistic and realistic prognostications about next years  roster.  What we know:  Doc and the Big 4 will return, everything else...up in the air.

So I propose a little game where first an offseason roster need is listed then you first pick who do you want (the only rule is they have to be available via trade meaning you know they are on the block ie Dwight Howard or they're some kind of free agent but with this first pick you can make it ad outlandish as you want without explaining how we get them just as long as their availabe.) With your second pick you must then pick a player or players (if there is multiple needs) that you think its more likely we'll actually see in Green next year given our cap, trade assets and if you dare guess the new collective bargaining agreement.   Here we go

STARTING CENTER:

WANT: Tyson Chandler-perfect running mate for KG would give us the most imposing defensive frontline in the league I'm pretty sure.  Unlikely because of Mark Cuban's wallet and how high his stock has risen

WHO WE GET: Samuel Dalembert-Also an excellent young defensive big, Knicks have interest but I think Miami could be stiffer competition with their large haitian population (scary thought if he goes there).  Also DeAndre Jordan good young option and Donald Sterling is in the happen of letting good cheap role players walk

BACKUP CENTER:

WANT: May not be as big a need if one Oneal doesn't retire but even if one doesn't.  I like Kyrylo Fesenko at LLE money.  Big banger who rebounds defends and has a not bad 10 ft jumper.  Getting him is not that farfetched actually

WHO WE GET: Nenad Krstic is a definite option obviously, also someone like Jeff Foster/Aaron Gray/ Jason Collins

BACKUP PF: Let me start by saying this Baby walks I think...

WANT: David West-he'd have to opt out but the benefits are obvious him being the heir apparent to KG perhaps being a lure for him to come if we magically could afford him

WHO WE GET: Andrei Kirelenko- somewhat of a long shot but I think his price has dropped, Carl Landry/Kenyon Martin/Boris Diaw/Leon Powe 2 of these guys are undersized but I think we'd sing pretty easy. Diaw I think is possible too, Martin may still think he commands a bunch of money and a starter job.

BACKUP SF: Moot because we are likely resigning Jeff Green but if he goes or we want more depth

WANT: Tayshaun Prince-probably not enough money or minutes to go around with Jeff Green staying

WHO WE GET: Shane Battier-finally, Grant Hill, Tracy McGrady 2 former Doc players who can be point forwards off the bench

BACKUP SG- this has not been addressed Delonte may get some minutes here but he's the backup PG for the most part

WANT: Jamal Crawford-so unlikely so moving on

WHO WE GET: Michael Redd-talk about spreading the floor, Kelenna Azubuike-Rondo's former college teamate who also defends, Mo Evans or Von Wafer resigns

BACKUP PG: I think Delonte stays

WANT: D-WEST is who I want but if not I like Marcus Thornton

GET: D-West or Carlos Arroyo

Sorting it out this is my guess for our top roster next year not assuming we get everybody we want.

PG: Rondo/West/Bradley
SG: Ray/Azubuike/Wafer
SF: PP/Green/McGrady
PF: KG/Kirelenko/Diaw
C: Dalembert/J-Oneal/Fesenko

Not bad...but right now I'm just dreaming
