If Dwight was smart, he'd come to Boston. Seriously though, its not going to be his decision...the magic are going to take the best package.

Dwight howard could make a chris bosh like move and go LA where he wouldnt get half the recongnition he could be getting somehwere else.

The biggest advantage LA have over Boston is that they can make a trade for Dwight Howard. They have the trade assets to make a deal.

That gives them the chance to acquire Dwight before he ever hits free agency ... and ever seriously considers joining the Celtics or anyone else with cap space ... because he is not going to turn down a move there or a contract extension there if the two clubs strike a deal ... it'll be over before it ever begun.

Yes, but the Lakers are in LA. And the Celtics are in Boston. And the Lakers have been winning for years and years. And the Celtics haven't come close in the last 20 years.

How are the Lakers going to sign him? AND why would Orlando trade with LA for Pau when they could get more from a team like the Nets?

Teams will simply double team up. Leave Rondo and double Dwight. We will still be in same predicament. For that reason I don't think Celtics will be as desirable to Dwight. Unless of course Chris Paul somehow finds his way to Boston. Only then possibly Dwight comes to Boston.

It's gonna be super interesting when CP3 forces a trade to NY and this pipedream officially dies down.

Yeah, super interesting to watch the last hope of being relevant between 2012 and 2016 die.

Hey, we can wish on a twinkle-star all we want - but I just think it's realistic that CP3 would agree to sign a longterm (probably maximum) extension with the Celtics to play with our aging Hall of Famers. And btw, if we did pull off this extend&trade, it would hurt our cap flexibility to sign Dwight in 2012. We have Pierce on the books for $16m that season + if we hypothetically get CP3 to sign an extension, on the books for $16-18m. That's $32-34m on the books. Assuming the cap is around $52m, we then have to renounce rights to any other players on our roster to sign D12. And who knows what exceptions will look like with new CBA.

So yeah, there's a slight chance - but I wouldn't bet 20 cents on it.

Methinks the trade would center around Bynum, not Gasol.

A point-guard teams will never respect his jumper-shot. Unless of course Chris Paul somehow finds his way to Boston. Only then possibly Dwight comes to Boston.

That's the way it works if your team is coached by moron Van Gundy. Doc Rivers isn't going to just post up Dwight Howard while everyone stands there... They'll have ball movement, multiple pick and rolls.

Celtics don't need Chris Paul. Rondo and Dwight would work fine, especially with Pierce, Allen, Green, and KG spreading the floor.

Rondo can blow by any defender, if anyone helps than you have either Ray or Paul outside, KG at midrange, or Dwight under the rim cause he's allowed to stand there for the entire shot clock.

If the Nets are offering you Lopez with his scoring, great free throw shooting and ZERO injury history why would you take Bynum?

Because Bynum is a high level defender/rebounder and B.Lopez isn't.

Honestly, I'd gamble with Bynum - he's shown a lot more potential than Lopez at this point... And he knows how to rebound.

But this is a mute point IMO, it'll come down to where D12 wants to go. If he wants to open a new stadium in Bklyn with DWill, he'll force his way to NJ. If he wants the glitz of Hollywood, he'll force his to LA. Doesn't matter what the best package is.

I also don't think Orlando will trade him before he reaches free agency... they might be one of the dumbest teams in the league. Uhh... they traded for Gilbert Arenas... they'll probably overpay for J-Rich then blindly convince themselves that Dwight won't leave.

Boston isn't even on his radar.

This is 100 percent correct.

I'd rather deal with the winter than the smog of LA.
Dream on.  Celts got no shot at him.

If you can’t see the hatred Dwight has for the Celtics then you aren’t paying attention. He is not coming here.

It's a fine line between love and hate.

You know that Danny's at least looked at every angle to try to make it happen.
