Favors is the main piece of the Deron Williams and is going to need be developed over the next few years. That means getting him more touches and shots , which would likely take away from Big Al's usefulness for Utah . They also have Millsap under a pretty decent sized contract.

I think Big AL would do wonders for this current C's team. He would give us a much needed low post game on offense( probably the best low post moves and touch in the league). He would also add 10 RPG also an area the c's are desperate for help in.

He would also be a nice piece to build with into the future ..

Jeff Green and Avery Bradley for Big AL?

pg: Rondo
sg: Ray
SF: PP
PF: KG
 C: Big AL

I think Big Al is exactly the sort of player that this team needs.  People malign him for his defense, but his inside scoring and rebounding ability is exactly what this team is missing.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure Utah is willing to just give up on him.  He's still a 20-10 guy after all, and everybody has seen this post-season that it's a bad idea to undervalue a solid 20-10 guy just because he's always been on bad teams and can't play defense.

I've also read that Paul Millsap is going to try to spend time at SF, which would allow them to play him alongside Favors and Big Al.

Still, if it were somehow possible to do some sort of sign and trade deal with Green and Krstic for Big Al, possibly working it into a deal with NO that also sends out Rondo and gets us Chris Paul and Carl Landry, I think the Celtics would instantly become the best team in the East again.

Ah, if only such dreams could come true.

jeff green isnt going anywhere ,with glen davis already saying he wnats to be a starter well..were going to resign him long term he can play both positions i dont think he'll ever be a true SF or a true PF proably both like a gerald wallace except with more range

the only way i see us getting al jeff is if utah just wanted to dump him basically for nothing ,they wont ant glen so a s&t wont work ,all we can really offer is

ray allen(contract) & j.o(contract) & avery bradley along with a few picks for al jefferson & a cap filler

but the only way i do these deals is if ray comes back via buyout

Well, Utah needs a true SF and needs to develop Favors, so in theory a sign and trade of Jeff Green and Krstic (net $11-12 million) along with a pick could conceivably net us Big Al, if the Jazz decide they'd rather move forward without him.  I'm not sure they'd go for that, though.  Big Al is still a very productive young center and you don't give that up easily.

sounds like zach randolph to me....

Look what happens when he gets a decent team around him and matures a bit. Big Al is as good, if not better than Randolph and would offer a ton to this current team.

you need a low post threat on offense Big AL would open up the offense so much.

I really like Jeff Green but if we could get him for Jeff and a few other pieces you would be crazy not to do it. I am not huge with him at Center but for a season and then toss your hat into the ring for Dwight I would be all for it.

Rondo
Ray
Pierce
KG
Al

People had similar criticisms of Zach Randolph throughout most of his career . . . can't play defense, slow, unathletic.  Fact remains both players are very good rebounders and are among the most dominant post scorers in the game.  That sort of player is a great asset, you just have to surround them with the right team.  The Celtics would be an ideal situation for Big Al.  Unfortunately it's not a realistic hope, I don't think.

I agree with Pos, here..I don't think Utah will part with him. And if they do they will expect a lot in return.

Well Big Al is not the defensive presence we really need, but considering he is one of my favorite players I'd have a hard time being upset if we traded for him...

Would love to have Big Al back in BOS on this team, but it's not realistic unless you want to try and breakup the core.  He's in the $13-14m year range; with the cap and luxury tax you can't exactly have that kind of salary on the bench.

Also Jeff Green is exactly the type of player the C's need to acquire (younger, atheltic, scorer); I don't see them parting with him.

we need someone willing to drive to the basket and finish.

and we need a center, a big center drafted out of high school in texas.

sorry I would take Big Al over Perk any day of the week. Big Al is superior at everything except low post defense. Better rebounder, scorer, passer, doesn't turn the ball over as much , would open up so much room for the other big 4 on offense with his low post scoring ability.

We would still have the draft and free agency to get a defensive minded backup center with beef. Those are not all that difficult to find .

If you like how Shaq made our offense look you'd *really* like how Al would make it look. Not that we're getting him, but still...
