Congrats to them...but the 2nd team is a better defensive unit than the 1st team

Kobe doesn't deserve it (first to say it)

Well deserved
Their defense keeps Celtics in games where they shouldn't even be that close to winning

Just hope Pierce can get a 2nd team or 3rd team all-defense. He's so underrated in that aspect

Well 2nd team was already announced, and PP isn't going to get any of the respect he deserves unfortunately. Glad to see some love for TA though!

I don't know about that. I can see the argument for Paul over Rondo (although I don't watch Paul enough to really argue either way) and then maybe Tony over Kobe.

Other than that I would take a KG and Howard over Noah and Chandler defensively any day of the week.

I also would take Lebron over AI just about everytime as well.

Im not saying those guys aren't great defensively but I think the KG, Howard, and James are all game changers when it comes to defense.

Ugh, Iggy, Tony, and Wallace are all better than Kobe and LeBron (overall, not in flashy chase down blocks).  Wade is also better than Kobe.

0 votes for Pierce, yet Odom, Manu, Wesley Matthews, and Joe Johnson all got multiple votes?  Crazy underrated.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I'm surprised that people don't think Lebron is that worthy of a first team selection.

Maybe I base it too much off of our team and for SF but I think he defends Pierce better than anyone in the league.

Pierce can play effectively against him from time to time but it's almost always when his 3 is falling

That's why Pierce should have been 1st or 2nd team, because he defends Lebron better than anyone in the league

I thought TA and Iggy should have been on the first team instead of Rondo and Kobe.

The frontcourt is sensational. LeBron, Garnett and Dwight.

Do you think if Tony Allen played all season he would have gotten 1st team over Kobe?  Or is Kobe's "reputation" still too big to be overtaken.

I didn't know Kobe made flashy blocks. At least I know I'm on a Celtics website when people don't think Kobe's deserving of 1st-defensive team.  :) But, I do wonder if the advanced defense stats actually support someone else or not....

I am tempted to call it a travesty but then I am not too sure of all criterion considered and who votes.

hats off to KG and Rondo.
