clearly hooked Rondo around the hip, and drove him into the floor with as much force as he could muster.

that's not a basketball play, it's a wrestling move.

the D-wade double standard makes me sick.  you can't breathe on him wrong without a whistle, yet he delivers an on-court pile driver and everyone looks the other way.

at least a 1 game suspension, and the celtics deserve an apology for the garbage that passed as officiating tonight

Nah, I'm quite alright with how the play was called. Bad luck on the landing for Rondo though. Darnit.

It doesn't deserve a suspension at all. Flagrant perhaps, but I've seen Ray 'hook' people to the ground before.

It was just unfortunate that Rondo fell the wrong way.

I don't think Wade meant to hurt Rondo on this one....yeah he hooked him, and the refs failed to call it, but I'll give Wade a pass on this.

Rondo just landed the wrong way.

I'm just glad we survived the Ref crew we had.

Rondo won't sit, and he'll be back on Monday to tie this thing up.

And from there we're on to Greener pastures ;D

he deserves the suspension because the hook was well after the play, it was unnecessary

I have a feeling that'll get upgraded to a flagrant. Doubt he'll get a suspension for it though. Wade has been making plays like that all series though. Tried to deck Pierce in game 1, two cheap fouls on Ray right after the Rondo injury. These are times when I wish Perk was around... actually maybe its better Perk wasn't around for that, Wade would probably be in the hospital

that's the thing, Wade has been making dirty plays all series long and getting away scott-free. He deserves to be punished so that he stops before someone else gets injured.

D Whistle...I hate him. I hate the team he plays for...got one championship handed to him on a golden platter. >:(

Wouldn't mind seeing this once again...not at all.

Wade's play was cheap but not dirty.  He pulled Rondo down with him on purpose, but he wasn't trying to injure him; the injury was a fluke consequence of the fall.  No suspension, but I wouldn't complain if they gave him a flagrant.

Exactly how I feel. If Rondo didn't get hurt, nobody would've said boo.

You can't give someone a flagrant on a play based on whether or not a guy was hurt because of it. You gotta do it on the merits of the play, not on whether or not a guy's elbow freakishly dislocates because he lands awkwardly.

The fact that it happened well after the play was beyond them (the take-down) tells you something. He's been playing a little dirty all series long. When Ray Allen gets in your face about your dirty stuff, you know something's up. He won't get suspended, but the league should up it to a flagrant...again, it'd be one thing if it was during a play for the ball. But it is very clear that Wade pulled him down well after the fact, which is definitely a dirty play.

I agree with that, and I think the refs make too many calls based on the outcome of the contact.

But if a flagrant is just "unnecessary contact", intentionally pulling a guy to the floor qualifies.  If the injury draws attention to the contact that it wouldn't've gotten otherwise, that's fine with me.

EDIT:  Don't blame the refs for not calling it that way initially, though.

That's my beef with it too, it was well after the play. and he's been pulling that crap all series long.
