Green played fairly well today.  Perkins was terrible today.  And most importantly, Doc elected to go small the majority of the game, even when JO was available for more minutes.

How did Jeff Green play fairly well? I just don't get it.

Looking at stats I guess. Fools Gold most of points came when the game was out of hand. He still looks like deer in the headlights out there.

Perk wouldn't have won this game for us by any means, but Danny got virtually nothing in return for him.

When Shaq is made active, Jeff Green should be going to the injured reserve.

He hit a couple of threes, and 1, and actually played Lebron pretty good off switches. Unlike BBD who played no weakside defense. It was atrocious to watch BBD out there. Jeff was the 2nd best player for us in the second half after Pierce got ejected.

Eh, once the Big Shamrock is cleared to play, I'd simply cut Green.

Why let him get a front row seat when he is undeserving?

I wouldn't cut him -- lol -- I just wouldn't expect too much from him.

Cut him.. He brings nothing, even with blatent evidence of his uselessness game after game when are you guys going to come around and admit that he's soft, and has absolutely no passion when playing out there. Jeff Green doesn't care about winning, it aint about having a calm demeanor. The guy stands around for the first 46 minutes of the game on offense and defense  picks up the pace when the game is pretty much over to pad his stats and make himself look more useful than he is. I wish the fans would please watch the game and watch Jeff Green and see how much more smooth the offense is when it is 5 on 5 basket ball with green on the bench.

Also brings absolutely no defense. This game he let james jones (who posters believed that Jeff Green with his size advantage would abuse) torch him. If pierce is gone for game 2 I expect lebron to drop over 40 on green.

Well, if Green was a disaster today, then Kendrick Perkins was a no-show, too.

Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph destroyed Perk and Serge today. And, to me, I don't see how those two can slow down ZBo and Marc.

San Antonio was not a fluke - MEM is for real.

Yeah, if we had Perkins today we would have totally owned the heat! We allowed their big men to score 2 points today and that is unacceptable! If only we had Perkins shutting down the paint like he did today against Randolph and Gasol we'd be fine!

I wasn't crazy about the trade when it happened (Perk was the wife's favorite C after she saw the episode of Celtics Now where he was shopping for baby clothes), but I trusted Danny and though it made some sense.  But now...

I'm not blaming Krstic or Green for this loss, but they bring NOTHING to the table.  You just can't defend Green's play or effort today, especially when he let THE ONE GUY on the Heat who can shoot 3s, the NBA's 3-point CHAMP, kill us.  He can't shoot, he can't penetrate, he can't rebound, can't pass, and he CANNOT defend. Oh, but he's a "gazelle".  Great.  Krstic is what we knew he was: a very poor man's Ilgauskas.

And Perk was lousy today.  Fine.  But I'd rather he was lousy for the Cs, and that they still had a little chemistry.

Jeff Green is a real bust.

I wish we had someone like Battier or Crawford.

Green is just SOOO underwhelming, so much expectation and he hasn't even come close to meeting them.
Celtics' turn on switch for the playoffs: the last bastion of hope for battered Celtic fans.

Ainge was swindled? Really? Perk sucked today, and he's also the oldest looking 26 year old in the NBA by far, he may have 2-3 decent years left in him. The way the Thunder got manhandled inside, they should be furious at the trade they made. We saw a lot of reasons why we got Green already so far in the playoffs. He helped guard Melo in round 1 and gave Paul much needed rest, and he may start if Paul is suspended in game 2. Sure, he has a way to go to meet his expectations, but he clearly has the tools to do it. We also got Kristic, who is more useful than Semih, and a clippers 1st rounder. Great deal imo.

Of all days to say this, today isn't the day. Green didn't play great, but he wasn't anywhere near as bad as Perkins.  You can say all you want about how Perk would've played better if he was playing in green today, but the fact is all players involved with "the trade" were pretty useless today.  None of the players involved wouldve altered the outcome one way or the other.

That's a good point dtrader.  I have been amazed that the Cs trading away their sixth-best player caused such an uproar (Bill Simmons), but the chemistry just isn't there anymore...
