The guy is still very capable of putting a team on his back.

Great win for them.

They had 42 points on the board late in the 3rd!
Yup

Unfortunately Broy's done. At least in terms of bein any kind of a star.

Thats what people said yesterday, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find a Portland fan that doesn't consider him a star today.

I think it's still premature to judge his limitations for the future. KG needed 18 months to resemble his old self, and his condition (as far as we know), wasn't anywhere near as serious.

That's the thing, though . . . KG's condition wasn't anywhere near as serious.  B-Roy doesn't have cartilage in his knees.  He's going to have great quarters, even great games now and then, but it's going to be very difficult for him to play consistently at a high level.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

yea it's sad but true. KG's case was way different. And Roy's so young that's what sucks about it. He really messed himself up by pushing to come back when he should've sat.

I don't think he's "done" ... his NBA career is certainly not going to be what it could have been, (and that's an immense shame), but people with this type of injury can often respond with surprisingly positive mobility and activity levels.

He can't produce on a level like he did tonight on a regular basis, because there's simply not enough soft-tissue left to support it. But advances in medicine in this area have shown very encouraging signs in terms of continued activity/mobility.

Frankly, I was extremely surprised to see him elevating so well tonight ... I would not have thought it possible, but it's clear he still has enough in the tank and enough success with his rehab to give an effective contribution on a limited basis.

I could be wrong, but I think he may surprise quite a few people with what he has left. Time will tell, but again, I don't think he's "done".

Yea i definitely think it's all relative though. Like, if Kobe started averaging 16 points per game next year I think people would say he's 'done'. Now would he still be putting some points up? sure but that would be a massive decline and that's what Roy's gone through.

Ugh... The Mavs are the team that will have a better shot of knocking the Lakers out. We don't want them to get upset by the Blazers.

I disagree. Blazers have Wallace who is a great defender and could cover Kobe, both teams have veteran PGs but Andre is a post type of PG which is rare which could hurt the Lakers and an undersized fisher.

Also, They have Camby and Aldridge 2 7 footers who can bang with Gasol and Bynum (kind of)

Whoever wins in this seven game series is the better team, and will have a better chance to beat the lakers. I enjoy watching these western matchups, and i love watching roy and the blazers.....but lets be real here we all want to see lakers celtics

If I had it my way, the Lakers wouldn't make the playoffs ever again...

The Mavs have the better front line needed to compete with the Lakers.

We definitely need at least one more Celtics Lakers matchup between these two teams. And i'm pretty sure we'll get one if OKC doesn't mess it all up. And that wouldn't be bad at all cus we'd have homecourt over OKC
