It is a tough call whether to start Shaq or JO, provided that Shaq comes back healthy.

Another key reason I would continue to start JO is that I think of the two - knock on wood - he has the best chance of staying healthy throughout this playoff run.

Therefore, I would continue starting JO, let that starting unit that played the last 10-12 games of the season and this first playoff series, kepp building chemistry together. They are starting to look cohesive as a unit. And I like the idea of  them continuing to build that cohesion / chemistry a sthe playoffs progress.

But Jon, I do understand what you say re starting Shaq and then bringing JO, rotating them in the second half, etc. And I agree also about Shaq and Baby being a bit slow after someone else mentioned it.

What about -
* Starting JO - let the starting unit maintain this consistency

* Bring Shaq in around the 8 minute mark, let him play 3-4 minutes with the starters...

* Then bring JO back, with Baby, Green, West and Ray, etc...

I just think one of our main problems down the stretch was trying to find that chemistry - and it looks like this unit with JO, is starting to click, build chemistry and confidence and that is critical the deeper the playoffs go...

I'd start Shaq if he is operating near full capacity. He'll be far more valuable against the Chicago Bulls (Joakim Noah) and LA Lakers (Andrew Bynum) as a starter than a bench player than Jermaine O'Neal would be.

Against Miami, I don't think it matters as much. Hence, maybe they could ease Shaq back into a starter's role if Doc wished..
