Bouts of depression after a loss, and bursts of over-confidence after a convincing win.  Celticsblog would be nothing without it's consistency.  :D

I don't think it's unreasonable to think that the celtics can beat the bulls. I saw your post first and went to the first page expecting to see something that sounded cocky or over-confident but it was just like 3 guys saying they think the celtics can beat the bulls.

Also, are people supposed to be happy and confident after a loss?

I think Noah is being over-rated slightly as well. But that's just my opinion.
Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

I mean I get that we're 2 series away from the bulls. But it's not like we're not allowed to talk about a possible matchup, right?

All we talked about in the last 10 games of the season was getting HCA over the lakers. Why can't we talk about making it to the ECF?

Aren't you the anti-Celtic that got ahead of yourself last year and counted out the Celtics before the end of the season, including a sig in which you had 4 or 5 non-celtics begging them to take the crown from the Lakers (which disappeared once we beat the Cavs or the Magic)?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I'd rather play the Bulls...after what our team did (in a super-underdog role) to CLE and ORL last year? Sure I'd love to see Rondo giving DRose fits.

If anyone here believes that CHI can beat Boston after that last regular season game I believe they are premature in those thoughts. The Boston Celtics team that played NY last night looked to be finally clicking on all cylinders.

I do believe that if ORL can get by ATL and meet CHI, ORL may beat them, though...besides DRose' production, CHI relies so much on what Boozer and Noah can give them, and neither have any shot vs Dwight.

But yes I very much want CHI...after DRose got ahead of himself and made those comments, he needs to be brought back down to earth....the young fella seems to think he is Michael Jordan now....don't make comments about other teams until you've won a ring (or two).

More like since they're getting out of the first round this year, they shouldn't talk until they get to the ECF or the finals in general. The Celtics have proven themselves before and sadly have to do it again to prove people wrong.
Besides that I think they can beat the Bulls. The bench has to step up though and Shaq has to be there with them in Chicago, but as for now, we gotta take it a game at a time and not get too carried away about the future.

If we can get to the ECF, I don't care who we play.

That Bulls team is tough, but I don't see them going to the finals.  They rely way too much on one guy.  D Rose is a spectacular talent, but I don't think he'll be able to carry them to the NBA finals.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

First and foremost, I am not nor have I ever been anti-Celtic.  I would not dedicate as much time to the team and this blog if that were the case.  I seriously resent the implication that I am.  Just because I don't share the same green-tinted view of the present and future as some other posters doesn't mean that I don't love this team as much as anybody else.

I had every reason to believe the Celtics didn't have what it took to get past the second round last year.  Indeed, if it weren't for LeBron getting an injury / playing far worse than he had in the regular season, the Celtics still might not have had enough last year.

This year, I still don't think we've seen enough to think the Celtics can definitely get past the Heat.

Plus, ultimately I wasn't wrong last year.  The Celtics didn't have enough to get past the Lakers.  They don't this year, either, not unless Shaq comes back and plays like he shed 5 years and 30 pounds.  Not having HCA is a killer.

Anyway, looking past the Heat to the Bulls is foolish, whether you're pessimistic or optimistic.  The Heat have looked far more formidable than the Bulls have recently.

I'll start being scared of LeBron the day he beats our team or any team as good as ours in a 7 game series.

As for the Lakers we had more than enough to put them away before Artest and his knee completely takes Ray Allen out of the series (although we kept going to him because his name is Ray Allen) and our only rebounder goes down in Game 6 where we were leading the series 3-2.

And that's not even putting the Lakers' extra 3 players into the equation.

BTW I apologize if you took any offense whatsoever to my comment, I just don't think it's fair that you can post up and down Celticsblog that the Celtics have no chance to make it back to the finals, let alone win, when you hadn't even seen them play a single playoff game, but a poster who is looking into the future with a much less negative/world is over attitude after the 2nd best offense in the league couldn't score a bucket against us on one of the best homecourts in the league, gets mocked with a picture.

Absolutely -- I want to see the C's face off against the best teams and Chicago are the best team on that side of the bracket. I'd much rather play them than Orlando/Atlanta. I want to see this Celtics team tested against the best of the best.

I was thinking I would rather have slid down to 4 to play the Bulls, but I'd rather take on the Heat ASAP. The longer they play (and they would crush Atlanta bad. Orlando would put up a decent fight IMO), the more comfortable they will get.

It seems like they will gain confidence the longer they play. It also seems Chicago is losing confidence the way Indiana is playing them.

Two things that can really help us against Miami is extended rest before the series and Shaq ready to bang.
