I don't want the C's getting any love for these early wins.  Their bigger problem all year has been when they have perceived themselves to be undermatched, rather than equally matched.

Carmelo has a significantly quicker first step than LeBron. Of course, when LeBron gets a running start, there is very little a team can do to slow him down.

I just think Boston lost a lot of respect in the media after losing to CHI and MIA towards the end there...I think that if we would've lost the other games, but won THOSE two - the media would still consider us top-flight.

We just have to earn the respect back, that's all.

Come June, once The Boston Celtics is left standing, then we'll be ok. And along the way JO/Nenad/Glen and maybe Murph will hold it down in the middle - that is another of ESPN's concerns, from what I've heard.

And who knows? In spite of the Shaq news today, I'm still not discounting a Big Shamrock sighting before it's all over.

No Shaq , our tails are cooked, all I can see is the Celtics running into a huge BRICK WALL in the second and quietly disappear off the playoff map.

I think I was clear in the first post  

 Nobody seems to be mentioning that the Celtics have looked awful in 2 straight games, including the last game where both Billups and Amare were non factors.  I dunno, I'm always scared when Rondo brings his all, Ray is shooting well, KG is pulling down double doubles and we're still just barely squeaking out wins against this truly underwhelming & unthreatening Knicks team.

But I don't think the C's as a whole have been all that awful. Just the bench.

The starters are playing well. Nobody is complaining about JO right now. Rondo had his typical all-around game followed up by an uncharacteristic attack-first game. KG has put up two solid double-doubles. Ray is 7-9 on threes (15-23 overall). And Pierce has come up with some huge plays as usual.

The starters are a combined +41. The bench is a combined -16.

Completly ignored in all the celtics bashing is that our defense has been pretty good even tho melo went crazy last night they only shot 35% I think they shot below 40% in game 1 too as long as we rebound more, and the bench plays better I think we'll be good for the rest of the series

I just can't say our defense has been good when we struggle to rebound the ball like we do.  Rebounding is a pretty critical aspect of a team's defense.

Man the rebounding has been awful but for the most part it's been contested shots and we're forcing a lot of turnovers

What else are they going to say?


Everyone expected the celtics to "turn it on" and blow out the knicks, but the knicks are making it a hell of a series with both games coming down to the last shot so far.

The only storyline there is that the celtics aren't winning as easily as people had expected they would. They have to write about something.
