Perk was huffing and puffing like a 45 yr old man last night.  OKC is so feakin young , skinny and athletic , I wondered all along if he could ever keep up the average OKC pace .  It takes guys , like Green to run the court with OKC's Hardin, Durrant ,and Westbrook . Perk was a fit in good with the ploding Celtic oldies team.

OKC would be in trouble with out those other bigs to pull most of the weight.

Unfortunately it's hard for us to discuss his play against Nene (who is a great player). Hopefully OKC moves on to the next round and we see fewer more of Perk. If I'm correct, he would match up against either Marc Gasol or Tim Duncan. Still tough matchups, but maybe it will give him a chance to display his skills.

Shouldn't he be able to display his skills vs Nene ? Or any other pjayer ? He's getting paid 8/9 M per to perform going forward.

Right now, he's looking like it's tough for him to get down the court by the 12 second mark left on the shot clock. He might as well just stay down on the def side of the court.

I agree completely. I think that he SHOULD  be able to display his skills, but he's not, so it's hard for us to talk about him. I just think we have to wait until later matches to see what he does.

What I'd like is an Official Jermaine O'Neal Playoff Tracker.....

Keep up the fine work, JO!

Games I've seen I feel sorry for perk.  He might have been the 5th option on the celtics but he really isn't even an option for okc.  Lot of many to pay a guy for screens and low post d.

It was great to see that Ray Allen wasn't the only player tied to the Celtics to have a game-winner last night.  Perk with the clutch rebound and putback!  ;D

He had to break the rules to do it, but it's cool that he got away with it, I suppose.

Perk's numbers in the playoffs have actually declined quite a bit since 08/09.

I think they overrated Perk like so many here are doing.  He's not even playing big minutes anymore the games that I've seen and he's dropped off on the production he was giving when he first arrived, not unlike Kristic was for us at first.  He's not making that big an impact.

I think you are bordering trade talk now ;)

Nene is obviously one of the worst matchups for Perk. He is one of the more athletic centers and still strong enough not to be intimidated on either end. Perk will probably have his chances to get physical against the Gasols and Bynum.

Perk knows he is not a scorer.

Not really. His numbers spiked a little bit that year because KG missed have the season. His minutes were up too. Once KG came back last year he went back to his usual self even though you could argue that last year was his best year

Perk importance in a game will never be defined by his numbers. His defense, leadership, and the other things he does to help his teammates won't show up in a box score.  He boxes out, sets picks, tips out rebounds to teammates.  He's still doing all that.  He doesn't have all of his mobility or lift back and that will probably take till next year as he is still getting back from the injury.

Yeah, but remember when he complained about not getting enough touches?

part of what OKC paid for was a championship pedigree and attitude that the Thunder have NONE of.

He's never going to "win" these one-on-one matchups against elite big men because he's not going to challenge them with the ball in his hands, but, as the hated "player-x" said in his interview, there are so few real tough guys left in the NBA and Perk is one of them.

Kevin Durant may be a complete player already, but (like D Rose) he's never guided his team to anything beyond a terrific regular season record.  If nothing else, i think Perk is going to be a great individual from whom KD can learn from.

We'll be hearing from Perk sooner rather than later in these playoffs.
