  • Rondo = Good

and as bad as everyone hates the celtics center trio they are probably the second best trio in the whole eastern confrence

Who is the best "center trio"?

You didn't ask me, but it has to be the Lakers.

Shawn Marion is a tough defender for Gerald Wallace to attack. An elite defender with excellent physical gifts.

The Blazers need to do a better job of getting Wallace involved whenever Marion is out of the game or defending someone else ... but not necessarily when Marion is on Wallace.

Gerald Wallace doesn't have a talented enough offensive game to consistently beat a top tier defender like Marion. Marion can take away that post game and that slashing and turn G.Wallace into a garbage man SF. As can G.Wallace to S.Marion on the other end of the floor.

Jason Kidd's triples have been huge tonight. Five of nine from behind the arc. Those two triples from Peja Stojakovic in the second quarter were big shots too.

Dallas has gotten 8 three pointers (8-16) compared to only 1 for Portland (1-10). Big difference.

19 points for Kidd now ... he has given them a great lift tonight.

  • GOT IT!!!
I really like this Blazers team. They have length and play hard each possession. You can only imagine if they weren't so cursed by injuries how even better they would be.

Pulling hard for the Blazers here ... come on Portland!

Tie game with four minutes to go. Whew, intense game.

15 fourth quarter points from Dirk ... terrific performance late in the game.

He is putting Dallas on his back and pulling them to the finish line.

Oh, well done Dallas.

Fantastic play from the Mavs late in that game. They were down six with six minutes to play and managed to win 89-81. A 14 point turnaround in the final six minutes of the game. Spearheaded by 12 consecutive Dirk Nowitzki points and finish off by Kidd's three ball and Terry's free throws. Lovely stuff.

eastern conference.

also, the lakers don't have a "center trio."  pau, bynum and who?  theo ratliff?  dude never even plays.  lamar doesn't count as a center.

Yes, I watched the Blazers-Mavs too...thank goodness for League Pass.  Very entertaining game.   :)

As luck would have it, am flying from Shanghai (where I live) to Portland, land next Thursday morning, visiting family before some biz meetings...and managed to get tix for Game 3 of Blazers-Mavs in the Rose Garden.  Not as good as seeing our beloved Cs, but still should be fun!!

what i mean by trio, is i mean just centers and or center

Magic have the best simply cause of howard

but after that its the

celtics

no question

you got the knicks whos centers are turiaf and jared jeffries

miami- joel and ilgauskas, atl is Jason Collins and paculia

I guess you can arguably put the bulls center rotation of noah and kurt thomas and asik

but id take the celtics with, jo-krstic and shaq

plus the celtics bench of Jeff Green - Glen Davis and Delonte west - Krstic and Jermaine oneal is the best No doubt in my mind and it will show in the Playoffs

I realize the sample size of 1 game is small, but Chicago and Miami certainly don't look like world beaters.  I watched the 2nd half of the Miami game, and Philly certainly had a shot to win.

Re Miami - there is simply a huge dropoff in talent after their Big 3, and you can "cheat" off a lot of those guys.  The slower, half-court PO game feeds into their defense, which is very good, but hurts their offense more than most, as they are much better in an open court, running game, where Lebron and Wade shine.  Put another way, they are more effective in the running game than in half-court sets... if we play them next round, and the pace is slow to slowish, I think we have a real shot, even sans Shaq.

I'll go watch Chicago later, but was encouraging to see them get challenged by what has to be the 2nd weakest team in the POs (NO has to be the weakest...)

Bibby is very trigger happy today. Brand looks like he's GOD and the LeBron playoff disappearance saga continues...

Since when has LBJ disappeared in the playoffs?  He's always been a monster.

Uhm, 2010 against... the Celtics!

He was the best player in that series.

Ugh, tough loss for Indiana, not sure they will recover in the series.

But it just confirmed to me that Chicago won't beat Orlando.

Why, specifically?  I saw nothing to make me believe that.

Orlando is better coached that Indy, has a lot more experience, Dwight, more shooters and scorers, more toughness on the road... the thing is, Chicago relies too heavily on Rose and Deng isn't reliable enough as a 2nd option. Boozer always disappears in the playoffs. And Noah is great on D but not a scorer.

What's about these reputations I never heard about? Boozer has had some tough series and some brilliant ones, but overall he's been a fairly productive playoffs player. Averaging 20/14/3 in 45 post-season games - good number for someone who always disappears. And I doubt he'll disappear versus a team like Orlando, he'll feast in their defenders at the 4.

I don't want Howard in Boston because I don't enjoy watching him play.  That goes for his demeanor too.  He's a hothead who throws elbows and gets down too easily.  I can't see him as a Celtic, great stats aside.
