Befluddled at the moment but hopeful for the future(playoffs). Last yr.at this time we all were basically writing this team an obituriary. Many were saying the team is to old, some were saying the Cavs were the better team and we'd never get past them, and there were those who believed in Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic were the better team.I admit after reading so much negativity about this team i started to buy into some of it.Even though things aren't looking that great at the moment i still beleive they will come through in the playoffs.Go Celtics!

As it is now, we've probably got a 60% chance of getting into the second round and 25% chance of making the ECF, which means that there's a [dang] good chance we're seeing the end of this team as a true contender.
I am thinking (1) there is a 99.9% chance the C's win the first round (2) a slightly better than fair chance (say 55%) they beat Miami in the second round (3) an 80% chance that they beat Chicago in the ECF to make the NBA Finals.

Same same -- excited the playoffs are finally about to begin and view the Celtics as the favourite to win the East.

Really?

I really want to believe that they'll flip the proverbial switch and the team will be different in the playoffs than what we've seen against Miami and Chicago recently...  but I'm thinking they've been flipping it, and the [dang] light ain't coming on.  They've got about two games to get an electrician and fix it.

They *should* be kicking the snot out of Miami, and two months ago they would be...  but when you're getting beat up inside by the likes of Big Z and Joel ****' Anthony, that's a problem.

The only way I can describe my emotions right now is by the fact that I am already picking second and third options to root for out of the Eastern Conference (Bulls and Knicks).

One word: Grieving.

it's not really an emotion i suppose, but "Pleading".

i don't want things to end like this. They had a great thing going, but somewhere along the way, things changed. And you desperately want things to go back to the way they were, happier times, and on some level, you're holding out hope that they will, but the only thing that keeps that hope alive is a blind faith or a gut feeling. so yeah, there's a pleading (to Fate or who knows) for one more chance. just one last chance that things could work out..

(lol, sounds like i'm talking about a relationship)

Great, not only did Danny trade away Perk, he caused you to continue an addictive habit that wreaks havoc on your lungs. Worst season ever...

Hopeless. I love the Celtics so much and I have zero hope of them doing anything from this point forward. I don't look forward to this team slowly dying the next few weeks. I have just given up all hope at this point...and that hurts like someone close just died

Mostly, I am embarrassed that a team who was killin it in January is now a shell of their former selves.  Concerned how people are gonna react if the Celts don't win the Championship and how Ainge will be regarded after.

And almost ready to say goodbye to the NBA for good and head back to college basketball, which IMO is a much better game.

but I am glad to have a community of fellow Celtic fans to go through this with. I live in Central Ohio and there isn't a lot of C fans around. Although the Cav fans have been sharing how to get through the tough times

confused

Confused why so many like to blame what's been happening with the Cs on "the loss of Perk".  The counter-factual everyone seems to have in their head is that the Cs would have won every game that has been lost, simply because the lovable big guy would be manning the five spot.

I suppose what might "perk" me up is if celticsblog creates a forum that allows members to pine away for traded/not resigned players like Gerald, Antoine, Perk, etc.  I think that might help with the catharsis that needs to happen on this blog.

Celtics fan for life.
